Mekor Haim yeshiva in Gush Etzion has released footage of murdered teen Naftali Frenkel (16), Hy"d, singing the song "HaHol Yizkor" (trans.: "The Sand Remembers") on Israel's 66th Memorial Day earlier this year.

Below is a translation of the lyrics for the song, written by Natan Yehonatan, set to music by Nachum Heyman, and originally made famous by Israeli folk singer Chava Alberstein.

The sand will remember the waves, but no one will remember their foam
Except those who passed in the late night's wind
From their memories, it will never be erased.

Chorus:

All will return into the depths, except the white sea foam
The night's candles fade. The friendship, the love -
The youth that ended suddenly.

On the beach of their hearts, too, something faint trembled -
They wrote it in the sand, when the passing moon lit up
foreign faces, weak laughter

[Chorus]

There were empty shells there, groaning lamentations from the sea -
And a cemetery on the hills -
And two who passed in silence -
between the squill, the graves, and the sycamore.

[Chorus]
