While much has been made of Hamas's "war against Israel", particularly in light of the Islamist group's suspected role in the abduction of three Israeli teenagers, the Arab nationalist Fatah organization - headed by Palestinian Authority chief Mahmoud Abbas - is not letting up on its own violent rhetoric against the Jewish state either.
Just three days after the abduction of the Israeli teens, Fatah's official Facebook page featured a propaganda video glorifying terrorism against Israeli soldiers and civilians alike, and vowing more deadly attacks.
The music video, which intersperses pictures of armed terrorists with injured Israeli soldiers and civilians, includes the verse "O [Al Aqsa Martyrs'] Brigades, draw determination from us and react...", referring to Fatah's "military arm" which has been responsible for scores of terrorist attacks including suicide bombings targeting Israeli civilians.
Towards the end, the song is more specific, addressing Israelis directly: "Stop and consider sons of Zion, that death is near."
The video was translated by Palestinian Media Watch.
It comes as Abbas's faction is attempting to win back popular support, after allegedly helping Israeli security forces in their search for the kidnapped boys. Many Palestinian Arabs were infuriated with the notion that PA police could be helping to rescue the captives, leading to demonstrations and public pressure against the PA.
On Monday, the Palestinian Authority "unity government" prime minister Rami Hamdallah sought to defuse the pressure by denying that PA security forces were cooperating with Israel in the search, or for anything other than joint activities "to ensure the well-being and daily activities of Palestinians."
It should be noted that, in contrast to more conciliatory language from Abbas himself, in the aftermath of the kidnapping Fatah activists joined their Hamas counterparts in urging Arab residents of Judea and Samaria to obstruct the IDF's operation to locate the kidnapped students in any way possible.
The same Facebook page which posted the recent video also featured cartoons praising the kidnappings and portraying the captive Israeli boys as rats.
The page has also featured numerous previous calls for violence against Israelis.
