Hundreds of Israeli supporters of Maccabi Tel Aviv basketball team took to the streets of Milan to celebrate their team's Euroleague championship victory over Real Madrid.
During the noisy but peaceful parade three passersby attempted to spoil the celebration by raising a PLO flag.
But the Israeli celebrants remained unruffled, and responded by chanting pro-Israel slogans and singing Israel's national anthem, the Hatikva, as the would-be provocateurs beat a hasty retreat.
Watch:
Maccabi Tel Aviv won the game 98-86.
While Real had the lead for much of the game, at one point leading by 11 points, Maccabi took the game in regulation. Tyrese Rice hit a three-pointer in the closing seconds.
Following the win, thousands came out to celebrate both on the streets of Tel Aviv and Milan. President Shimon Peres called Maccabi Tel Aviv coach David Blatt to congratulate him.
