Two American lawmakers, Senator Bill Johnson (R-OH) and Congressman David McKinley (R-WV), visited Judea and Samaria on Monday, where they declared that “Israel is the most important friend of the United States.”
During the visit, the two lawmakers visited important sites in the region, such as the Ariel University and the Barkan Industrial Zone.
As they met with students at the Ariel University, Johnson and McKinley stated that they were against the “peace plan” being promoted by Secretary of State John Kerry. They further stated that they intend on telling their fellow lawmakers in Washington that the U.S. should help Israel achieve its goals rather than forcing an unwanted solution on the Jewish state.
Johnson and McKinley were hosted by the Yesha Council and the Yes to a Strong Israel organization, headed by former MK Rabbi Benny Elon.
Dani Dayan, chief foreign envoy for the Yesha Council, told Arutz Sheva that the two men “came here as supporters of Israel, but they left here as strong supporters of Judea and Samaria, as convinced more than ever that, for the sake of Israel’s security and for the sake of the world’s security, Judea and Samaria have to be an integral part of the State of Israel.”
