As some residents of Migron appeared on Tuesday before the Supreme Court and asked that their eviction be cancelled, Arutz Sheva spoke with MK Tzipi Hotovely about the issue.

17 families whose land has been bought recently from alleged Palestinian Authority Arab owners asked the Court to cancel their expulsion. They emphasized that that they will not violently resist expulsion if the justices rule against them.

Hotovely said that the Supreme Court’s decision on Migron will determine whether the Court “protects just the Palestinians’ right or also the Jewish settlers’ rights.”

“The Jewish settlers bought some of the real estate in Migron, and this is why it’s so important to check whether those purchases of the land are actually reliable. Today we must see justice done. The Israeli court should protect the rights of every citizen in Israel – Jewish or Palestinian – to buy real estate in Israel.”

The fate of another three dozen residents apparently has been sealed. Migron lost a case, initiated by Peace Now, which successfully challenged previous purchases of all of the land on which Migron is located.

The court ruled in favor of Peace Now even though no proof was brought from Palestinian Authority Arabs that they own the property, located in Samaria.

The residents who will be evicted in any case on Monday filed a request with the Supreme Court, asking that their eviction be postponed until the caravan site in Givat HaYekev, where the residents are to live after their eviction, is completed.
