The IDF has denied a report by Palestinian Authority sources that Israeli fighter pilots carried out an attack Saturday night in retaliation for a rocket attack on Ashkelon earlier in the evening.

According to local Gaza sources, Israeli fighter pilots attacked terrorists traveling in a vehicle near Khan Yunis, in southern Gaza, less than an hour after a Qassam rocket was launched from the region at southern Israel.

No one was physically injured and no damage was reported in the attack on Ashkelon. One Qassam rocket exploded in an open field south of the city.

There was reportedly a second terror attack on southern Israel as well. Gaza terrorists allegedly fired mortar shells at an IDF outpost near the Gaza security fence. Soldiers searched for the terrorists, but they managed to escape.
