Former United States Governor and Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin has warned that if Iran obtains nuclear weapons, "Armageddon" could ensue. She voiced her concerns in an interview with Newsmax for its online series titled "Make America Great Again."

Palin expressed concern over many of U.S. President Barack Obama's policies, including his policy vis-a-vis Iran. "I worry about what is going on in Iran, and if we will end up having to use some military force there to support Israel and our other allies, to stop [Iranian President Mahmoud] Ahmadinejad from ever having his hands on a nuclear weapon," she said.

"Yes, the negotiations, the sanctions, all that, yes, we have to try that, but of course the military option has to be on the table," she said. Ahmadinejad is an "evil dictator," she added.

An Iranian nuclear weapon could pose a threat to the entire world, she continued. "We have to realize that at the end of the day, a nuclear weapon in that country's hands is not just Israel's problem or America's problem, it is the world's problem. It could lead to an Armageddon. It could lead to that World War III that could decimate so much of this planet."

While discussing Obama's financial policies, Palin alluded to possible outside influences on the President. At first terming Obama "naive" and "stubborn" for failing to pursue free market capitalism, she then stated that "Whomever it is who's pulling his strings will not let [Obama pursue capitalism], because the ideology involved in all this will get in the way."

Palin said she has not ruled out a continued career in national politics. "Anyone is foolish to prematurely close any door that perhaps will be opened for them," she said. However, she said, "really, it isn't my call. It is the people of America."

Palin termed herself a "unconventional" candidate, and said that someone more conventional may also be more electable.
