Israeli forces recently discovered a weapons lab in the village of Abu Dis, east of Jerusalem. Three Palestinian Authority men have been arrested on suspicion of using the lab to build bombs and weapons for attacks on Israeli citizens.
The lab was discovered in mid-September, but reports of the discovery and the subsequent arrests were kept under wraps until Friday by court order.
Military officials believe the discovery of the weapons lab led to the prevention of terrorist attacks. The lab is part of a larger effort to carry out attacks in the greater Jerusalem area, they warned.
Attacks in Jerusalem Area
At the same time that news of the foiled terrorist plot reached the public, several attacks were reported in the Jerusalem area. In the neighborhood of Gilo, two Arab youth attacked and wounded a security guard at a daycare center.
Several rock attacks on Israeli motorists were reported in the Ramallah area. Damage was caused in at least one attack, but no injuries were reported.
