A Border Guard policeman who was shot by a Palestinian terrorist earlier this month died of his wounds on Wednesday, just a day after the city's second tractor-terror attack.

David Shriki of Rishon LeTzion is the name of the dead policeman.  He has been in critical condition since Friday night, July 11, when he was shot in the head by a Palestinian terrorist near Lions Gate of the Old City. The terrorist also shot and wounded another policeman in the attack, but escaped into a nearby Muslim cemetery after two additional Border Guard policemen arrived on the scene and shot at him.

Though security cameras caught much of the attack on film, the attacker's identity could not be ascertained, and he is still at large. A gag order has been placed on the police investigation of the attack.

The death brought to 13 the total number of Jerusalem terrorist casualties this year: In January, 20-year-old Border Guard policeman Rami Zuari from Be'er Sheva was killed in a terrorist shooting outside the northern Jerusalem refugee camp of Shuafat.  In March, 8 yeshiva students were slaughtered in the infamous Merkaz Harav attack, and earlier this month, three Jerusalemites were murdered by the first bulldozer terrorist.

A total of 28 people have been murdered in Palestinian terror attacks in Israel this year.
