But beyond that, intermarriage has NOT always worked for The people of Israel.  It was only when the wives wholeheartedly embraced the Hashem of the Jews that things were ok. Ruth and Boaz were the progenitors of Solomon bu tlook at the mess he made with his 700 \"foreign\" wives. As late as Ezra, Hashem commanded the leaders to send away the foreign wives which was a lot more merciful than what He did in this week\'s Parasha where he demanded the Midianite captives be slain.  \nOh land lets not forget Ahab who married that Cannanite *@$#!, Jezebel. \nNo, Yvonne, intermarriage has not always been good for Am Israel. It\'s only when those gentile wives follow Ruth\'s example that we are blessed thru them.  ");
AddReply(466376,"# 7, Shoshie..Intermarriage is","yvonne","cary","07/19/09","difficult. So is marriage between any people of different background, culture, or country and race. To make that fact a more difficult problem by blame, fingerpointing and putting oneself on a pedestal over the *offenders* is not wise, but risky. IF you put yourself on a pedestal, the world can see your undies. And, the world does see your undies, sorry to say. Hashem, Shoshie, is not bound by YOUR rules and regulations. HE will bless whom HE wishes. Hashem has set a mission and goal before jews to accomplish. That mission is NOT ACCUSATION AND JUDGEMENT. Judgement, Shoshie, belongs to G-d. Abraham was not a a jew, he was made a jew. There was a reason for it: he was righteous, he was joyful, AND he welcomed others in his tent, which was open on four sides. I have seen offspring of intermarriage, such as a young boy who as soon as he could walk decided to dress in black, to wear a cap at all times and, who...even though he had a learning (reading/writing) disability had no problem, whatsoever, reading  Torah in translation and understanding every word of it, even explaining to adults. Who knows the ways of Hashem, Shoshie? There is important work to do. Criticism and fingerpointing is NOT IMPORTANT WORK. Love your neighbor and build the nation. Contribute something tangible. Those who can not forgive will not be forgiven. And it does not matter what YOU THINK. Others do not care, and do not feel what YOU think. YOU are the one with the burden. Think about it. A family which rejects the children born into it, is a sorry family to belong to. Because the children, Shoshie, do not chose their parents, nor do they ask to be born. The children of intermarriage, Shoshie, went to the camps during WWII. First it was only those with jewish mothers, but soon after that it was also those with jewish fathers, and even grandparents. A child with a jewish father, a jewish name, and a jewish appearance is only not a jew to persons like you. Shame on you!! Now, this is not written to put you down. It is not a personal matter. I have written this sothat you may discuss this with your family and friends, and in a larger context. IF you can not find PEACE with your own relatives, and the intermarried and their offspring ARE your relatives, how in the world can you speak of PEACE at all? IF Hareidi disgrace the Shabbos, how in the world do they Grace Hashem and obey His Word? BEATS ME! Jewish history is full of intermarriage and it was to our benefit.");
AddReply(466369,"one may cry over the diaspora jew..","yvonne","cary","07/19/09","and I might cry over the jew who lives in Eretz Israel who is not a jew. Being a jew is not only a matter of genetics. Some of our genetics stand in the way of being a fully active and contributing jew. IF it is true that marriages are made in Heaven and children are G-d\'s creations then one should think what one is doing criticizing His Creation.I heard from day one: *make this world a better place, start with yourself*, and indeed, it is as with the work of artistic creation or recreation: achievement makes one\'s eye, ear and mind clearer, and the goal moves up. Jews born in the late 1800\'s were first given an opportunity to participate in full University Education in Hungary, only to find that their degrees did not lead to employment. Then there were WWI and WWII. A number of jews out of those generations intermarried. It happened in my family. Interestingly enough, though, a new phenomenon occurs: without jewish education, one by one they return to judaism. No one is influencing or forcing them. Once a jew, always a jew. And it does not matter whether the linkage or lineage is via the mother or the father.If jews all return to Eretz Israel our role in Diaspora is over. If we do not find a role within Israel, going out from there, judaism is over. Perfection is a personal issue. Gifts of Love, Peace, contribution to the world should continue. Crying contributes nothing, neither does reproach and accusation. One who points a finger at others should look at the hand that is pointing. Three fingers point back at him.\n");
AddReply(466295,"While the fact that many Jews remain in Exile is a valid thing to","Yitzi","USA","07/19/09","focus on in mourning the Destruction (that\'s how we got there), there are better ones...the absence of prophecy, factionalism among religious Jews arising from the lack of a Sanhedrin, an inability to decide the law without bias toward or against stringency also arising from the lack of a Sanhedrin, the inability to properly fulfill in their entirety any of the 6 orders of Mishnah and inability to do more than a small amount of 2 of them...all these things can be directly linked to the loss of the Mikdash.  And many other problems, such as the nations\' actions against us, the lack of an honest government, the lack of a religious government, perversion of justice (in the form of judicial activism) in the Supreme court...all these things will be fixed at roughly the same time that the Mikdash is built.  So what you\'re focusing on is a good choice, but probably not the best.");

Is it his arrogance or his ignorance?  Normally, I wouldn’t try to take up the issue with an individual of this nature.  Let him think and do as he pleases.  If he comes for help, great.  Likely not since his type of character is ingrained with a pathological self  confidence that prevents him from being able to see the need he has for help.  The real purpose of writing this note is to reach out to all Jews; both those living in E”Y and outside E”Y.  Golus can be a tricky state.  One can be standing and davening right in front  of the Koisel and not be aware of the tremendous Golus he/she is in.  In point of fact the very act of living in Yerushalayim can confuse one into thinking that one is no longer in Golus.  The false sense of security felt by those who live in E’Y that there is no assimilation is often “bubble bursted” with gay pride parades, relentless pursuit of Americanization, and intermarriage with Arabs, Russian gentiles etc. The lesson to be learned from this sad author’s condescension is that to truly fix the problems that are holding back the Geulah one has to develop a sense of one’s own lackings and to feel the pain of those lackings.  Once that is accomplished the final step is to work on those lackings and to work on refining one’s own middos for the rest of our lives.");
