I entered the Cave of Machpela and saw the graves of Abraham et al.\nMy point is that to lose touch with\nthe grave of our patriarch would be a great disaster.  We have a 4,000 year long legacy to protect.  I don\'t want to go back to the old days when we could not enter the cave (a chamber really) but only go up to the 7th step and look in.  When I asked the locals where that entrance was, they said they smashed the hated stairway and bricked up the door at the back.  Now everyone goes in through the front door, like a mentsch (a civilized human being).  Giving the site back to the cousins would signal a return to the hated seventh step.  To David, keep up the good work.");
