AddReply(425536,"I Second Meira","Rob","New Castle","04/17/09","I for one second Meira\'s response, Amein. \n\nBut, I also do not live in an area where there is a large number of \'liberal\' J (Jewless) Street Jews. \n\nIf it\'s Israel that \'needs\' America for its survival, I somehow find it odd that America is not mentioned anywhere in Torah.\n\nIn fact, just to go a step further, America is not mentioned anywhere in the belief systems\nof ANY group be it Christian, Moslem, Taoist, Buddhist, etc. and with the current status of America, one that leans toward more of a disintegrating status than one of a unified nation, given the recent remarks by the Texas governor, I find the only relevance is sadly the fact that about the same number of American Jews voted for Obama that chose to not follow Moshe into the desert and receive the Torah.  I pray they don\'t suffer the same fate just because the current president is an actor as opposed to Reagan, who \'was\'\nan actor before becoming president.\n\nAmerica has been good to the Jews who live here but, we Jews have contributed much to America.  Now, America has put Israel, along with it\'s previous gov\'t in an awkward position in regard to Iran and is all too willing to \'give orders\' to what it considers one of it\'s pawns on the international chessboard.  I pray the new Israeli gov\'t will no longer be a piece on the int\'l gameboard and take its proper place in being a \'light unto the nations\' as it should be.  If we were not a \'Blessed\' people, and I do not say that arrogantly, but humbly, as we\'ve certainly had our share of suffering over time, why would such a small number of people on the face of this Earth, not even 1 percent of the total population account for nearly a third of all advancements in nearly all fields of endeavor?  I dare say if more of us, myself included, learned and followed Torah, to the letter, maybe we wouldn\'t have suffered as much and maybe the cure for so many diseases and other miracles \'our\' people have developed would have resulted from being that light.\n\nSometimes, I don\'t think \'J Street\' or the liberal establishment in America can remember that it\'s not Israel that\'s the \'Great Satan\' in the eyes of fanatics, that\'s America\'s role.  Is it so hard to possibly believe that whether true or false, the Arab world blames Israel for simply being a conduit for America\'s output of filth, corruption, and self-righteousness? As an American, I\'ve always been patriotic, but, as a Jew, I must stand with Israel for the Jewish people are my family and Israel is my home.  America didn\'t need a second Jimmy Carter and Israel can\'t afford one.  \n\nIsrael doesn\'t \'need\' America, it\'s the other way around.  Please, when dealing with the current administration, just remember one picture in your mind, Obama prostrating himself to \'his\' leader, the king of family of Saud.  Since his citizenship is still in question in many American\'s minds and he\'s willing to spend millions to avoid spending $10 to produce a birth certificate logic would conclude he has something to hide.  The guy won\'t even let his college records be viewed.  This is not a man of honor, this is a man of deceit.\n\nThe American people, I believe the majority of them, remain supporters of Israel, but the American gov\'t is no longer even a \'shadow\' of the friend it once was to the Jewish Nation.  It\'s time for whomever is ready to take that voyage, to enter the desert and head home to Israel.");

It conducts laughably unscientific polls purporting to show massive Jewish agreement with suicidal Israeli retreat. It attacks our strong Christian friends. It places it\'s ultra-liberal rubbish over Israeli lives nad survival. We must make it crystal clear that J Street speaks only for a few self hating Jews.");

Being Jewish might carry some weight with a non-Jewish audience. Among Jews, it\'s sigh. yawn. so what, so am.\n\nThat aside--Moderate Jews who claim to care for moderate Palestinians have yet to explain to me exactly HOW a terrorist, Hamas state will be in the best interests of average Palestinians, let alone Jews.\n\nPeople like Jeremy aren\'t pro-Palestinian or pro-Israeli.\n\nJ Street is despite its name quite anti-Semitic btw.");
AddReply(424614,"G-d:  the real difference","Adam","Monsey, NY (aliyah 5769!)","04/13/09","Let\'s assume that about 80% of American Jews are liberals.  I think that might be a bit high, but let\'s assume.  80% of 6,000,000 American Jews (also an inflated number - but I digress) is 4,800,000 Jews.  I highly doubt that each and every one would support J Street\'s ramblings, but that\'s the maximum American Jewish support.\n\nCompare with the Christian Zionist crowd - 30,000,000 and rapidly growing.  \n\nAlso, these liberal Jews are concentrated in a few states, (New York, New Jersey, California, Florida) Florida is the only \"swing state\" of the bunch.  Christian Zionists live in large numbers in all fifty states (with the possible exception of Hawaii).  \n\nIf that were the only reason not to worry about J Street - dayeinu.\n\nHowever, there\'s an even more compelling reason.        \n\nMr. Medad quotes Mr. Ben-Ami above as writing, \"a deep bond between Israel and America is essential to its survival\".  \n\nNo sir.  A deep bond between the Jewish people and THE ONE AND ONLY CREATOR OF THE UNIVERSE is essential.  I appreciate American support of Israel, and the USA will certainly be rewarded for it - but no physical entity is responsible for the survival of the State of Israel.  \n\nThat\'s the difference.  It\'s no longer about right vs. left.  It\'s about G-d lovers vs. G-d haters.  \n\nJ street et al wants to believe that Israel needs America, and the EU, and the Quartet, and the UN, and any other form of outside help to survive as a nation.  Because if this belief was ever shown to be false, they might have to concede the possibility that G-d gives strength to His Nation, and only G-d can bless\nHis People with peace. ");
