I went back and edited my TB to make it conform, without question, with INN guidelines, but he continues to censor it.\n\nTHEREFORE, it occurs to me that I hight have said something worthwhile enough to merit his actions.  I post the TB in its entirety for your comment and, perhaps, benefit.\n\n-------------------------------\n\nAs I review the Passover story carefully, I notice that the responses to the different children are to teach each of them effectively, based on their abilities and predispositions.  Results count.  Can anyone disagree?\n\nBut let\'s say that I am, as Fishman implies, the evil child, or, as he also implies, the child who does not know how to ask, or the child who does not show up at all.  Can he deny me lamb while I watch longingly (cf. the evil child)?  No.  He doesn\'t have that power.  Can he stimulate my imagination with stories (cf. the child who does not know to ask)?  Obviously not, as I and plenty of others who disagree with him respond to arguments and evidence that the stories and authorities he chooses do not provide.\n\nLet\'s focus then on the last \"type\" of child.  Can one not argue that this child is a metaphor for the result of bungled educational tactics and inane political decisions by the \"elders\"?  It must be reassuring, though, to claim that this child is stoned in Bangkok or hiding Easter eggs.\n\nAlas, this need not be so.  For example, will be visiting Thailand and Cambodia.  I do not get stoned.  I will be spending very little time at discos, etc.  But I do have a Michelin Green Guide to Thailand and a series of books on cultural, artistic, historical, and archeological matters relevant to the region.  For example, I\'m now reading a book on Buddhist art and architecture, and I have two books on the Angkor complex near Siem Reap, Cambodia.\n\nHowever comforting it must be for Fishman to believe that the alternatives consist of either being stoned/placing Easter eggs in galut or being in the sunny glow of Israel, this is a false dichotomy.  To put the point more broadly, if one is not in Israel, it need hardly follow that one must be engaged in some mindless quest for money and debauchery.  Nor is it true that if one is in Israel one lives virtuously.\n\nFinally, insofar as the child who skips the Seder does so BECAUSE of the elders, do the elders have nothing to repent for?\n\nI strongly believe that my boycott of Israel as a vacation spot has been mostly determined by one person:  Fishman himself.  I think so poorly of him--and of his yes-men here--that I don\'t want to get near Israel.  Now I expect you think this is a good thing (hey, at least I won\'t bring drought!), but let\'s not pretend that the two events are unrelated.  If one at least in part CAUSES another to skip Seder, is one not at all responsible for this outcome?\n\nAnyway, I suspect I may not be spending much (or any) time on A7 after I return (though I\'m not leaving for awhile).  I look forward to disconnecting from Israel completely.  It will be a welcome change, as I find little there but irritation.");

AddReply(420818,"a jewish education..","yvonne","cary","04/02/09","is costly. In the U.S. one must attend private schools. To get other religion based education is as costly, via private schools. University costs a lot of money. In some countries with mixed economies both private and public education are fully funded. That has some advantages. A.o. in the U.S. jewish parents could send their children all to jewish schools. And chrsitians could send their children to the christian schools of their choices. School lunches could take into account kosher or other requirements. So much less to worry about. One example we would not have to worry about is christians setting the curriculum and what books may or may not be in the library for everyone. That would be real choice and real democracy. A more liberal government may be inclined to favor such an option. The christian right is not, because they lose their power to both set curricula in public schools AND tell others what they can or can not teach, read, or have in their libraries. Unfortunately, the orthodox jew is not for it either, because he fears that non-jews would have to be let in. I do not think that christians would opt to get a jewish education and eat kosher food, but I also do not think that a non jewish child learning hebrew, eating kosher food, and sitting next to a jewish child contaminates anything. And then there is the issue of University education. In some countries it is free. They even have stipends, sothat students can go to school and also have a family with some input from parents. That would be a good thing for jews. Unfortunately, with Republicans in charge in the U.S. that will never come about. With a real democracy in place and a Democratic Presidency and government, the chance to get that would be much greater. I think a better educated public is an advantage. ");
AddReply(420810,"Larry, would it surprise you..","yvonne","cary","04/01/09","that I agree with you that the U.S. is not pro Israel? That is not something I argued. And, Tamar, I understand very well what Israelis want, hope and sacrifice(d) to be able to have a nation. I was 6 when WWII started, and 12 when it ended. My friends went through a fast education and then went to Israel to start their life there. Kids who arrived in the middle of 6th grade elementary school, and had lost their parents and families, went as fast as they could through vocational training to be independent and then went to Israel. I was there, Larry and Tamar. But all this is off topic. This blog by Tamar is not about Israel, or jews. It is about a civil service obligation for three months being equated with all sorts of things. I do not know if Mr. Obama has any ulterior motives up his sleeves, but there is no evidence of it. Inuendo and allegations do not support any case. Labels never had any glue that stuck in the first place and whatever there would have been has come off. Sticking pins through the labels and nametags has also not worked. The pins have bent double, have become blunt and will not go through any cloth, or have simply broken off. For the U.S. to have a civil service corps to aid people in this country, and to be called upon in times of need, such as floods, has nothing to do with the security of jews, their ability to form a minyan or to pray, let alone the security and survival of Israel. What is a hazard to the survival of Israel is the failure to call a spade a spade. IF Palestinians are allowed to play the victim and use that victimhood to murder, terrorize, we have lost an argument before we even made one. No one should be allowed to murder because of their difficult circumstances. The tradition of legal settlement in courts, argument, rather than barbarism is our legacy. Example, there was in the U.S. a case of a woman who lost everything when her husband divorced her. Her situation was unbearable to her, and she decided to murder her ex husband and his new wife. No one said, yes, but you HAVE to understand. She is in jail. Many a divorced wife of a professional man, especially those who financed that husband\'s education, practice, etc. can understand where Mrs. Brodrick was coming from. But they do not take the law into their own hands. Indiscrimately murdering others, innocents, bystanders, whatever, is going several steps further. That is an issue to be addressed. Mr. Obama\'s three months civil service proposal is a non-issue and has no context to jewish or Israeli survival. Blindly accusing without proof or argument, throwing nametags and attaching labels is just as bad as terrorism. A word once launched can not be recalled. Words kill. They are like murder, and l\'shon hara is equated with murder. Slander kills the speaker, the one at whom it is directed, and all  who hear it or listen to it willingly. It is wrong for jews, it is even wrong for christians. Jewish sons and daughters are not going to be *taken away* because the parents could not afford an education. Instead of those students having a large loan to pay off after completion of their education they have a chance to sign on for some volunteerwork. That is by no means mandatory. It is an opportunity one may take or not. However, Tamar is mixing everything up. The civil service corps is not the same issue. Efforts to draw people in towards a better future and out of poverty exist all over. There is the story of social services efforts, Grameen Bank, started by Muhammad Yunus of Bangladesh. There is an Arab connection to that same effort. Instead of complaining about it, what about Arabs helping their fellow Palestinian Arabs by using that example and providing microloans to them, inviting them to start businesses in Arab countries, etc.? People helping their fellow nationals is not a bad idea. Socialism and Communism have had their day. In Europe we have mixed economies. In the U.S. we have mixed economies, and Grameen Bank is an effort to create social business, together with capitalist ones, using foundations, grants as starter capital. It is not socialism. A civil service corps in the U.S. is not socialism. Mandatory service in Israel is not socialism. And what about a kibbutz? Was/is that socialism? The whole uproar that Tamar helps fomenting has nothing to do with Israel, jews, judaism, but rather it has to do with the elections coming up in the U.S. for the Congress and the Senate, and after that the Presidency again. The Republicans lost. They have nothing other than swiftboating, accusations and inuendo. A few even have declared that they want the Obama Presidency to fail. If it fails, the U.S. will fail. The continued thread on Tamar\'s blogs is about the person of Mr. Obama. Unfortunately, nothing sticks, because nothing is there to stick. I think that there are more urgent matters for Israel than the person of Mr. Obama. ");

On the other hand..economics degree, sentence used very often..on the other hand, in the U.S. many people carry arms. Heck I know a few who have whole arms collections, enough to start their own army with. It does not appear to accomplish much for maintaining order. The U.S. has now embedded everywhere criminal Mexican (and other criminal) consortia, and our weapons do nothing to help this fact. There is no organized militia. In fact, as we also see in the case of Israel and Gaza, as an example, the availability of weapons is an incentive to come in and go get those weapons for oneself. Methods appear identical. Some of the outfits worn, such as caps covering head and face are similar. And Hizbullah too, appears to supply drugs via Columbia to the U.S. (through Mexico??). Anyone can cross the border, or go under it, around it, fly over it, arrive by submarine. And outflow of jews from the U.S. and increased inflow into Israel? Would that be good or bad? As it is, Israel is going to give away more territory! The newest to be sworn in elected official, Netanyahu has already agreed to it. And for the U.S.? Jews make up a small percentage of the electorate, but they do have a mighty political influence - as long as they are here, in the U.S. -. If they are elsewhere, and vote there, become citizens there, well, then, of course that would be another matter altogether. If some Israelis continue to badmouth this specific President, and the political power that supports him, what would the effect be? A backlash? Who stands with Israel? Can Israel stand to lose any support right now? Questions, questions!! But Israel and Israelis have to stand on the side of G-d, and that is on the side of TRUTH. IF what is stated is untruth, or dubious, Israel, and those who speak on its behalf, stand with the wrong side. I suggest publishing all those accusations in the larger media and see what the results are. Here are some real facts. The U.S. has unemployment problems, a huge deficit, has outsourced its means of production and production itself, and people are poor. Those who have no roof over their heads and no job to go to can not be expected to go on supporting those that badmouth the nation they belong to. There are other uses for the resources. Deregulation, outsourcing, and deficitspending did not start with Obama, not even with Bush. They started with another Republican President, Reagan. Fact is that Bush did nothing for Israel, other than the *roadmap*, and nothing for the U.S. We will see what Obama will achieve. IF that is a turn-around for the American voting public, no amount of badmouthing will help The *Religious* *Right*. They will be proven, once again, to be wrong. Now, the Republicans (and Tamar) have their chance to put in their ideas and constructive support, both in the U.S. as well as in Israel. If you have anythiong substantive and real, Tamar, go with that. I believe Tzippi Livni does not see the future as especially rosy in Israel right now. Netanyahu was elected for a conservative agenda and against giving up more Israeli territory. He has already stated that he is not able to put that into action. Let us see the will of Tamar and other Israelis to CHANGE THE COURSE, not in the U.S., but in ISRAEL. Make a difference where you live!! I, for one, would support giving up the *two state* solution and the *roadmap* - it will lead nowhere. Show us some ideas and facts, Tamar!! Make Israel a more jewish state, Tamar, I would support that too. Where, oh where, are your constructive proposals? Maybe you should start a youth movement to make it come true. Oh, is it not the case that in the Gaza evacuation it was the youth of Israel which put up a fight, and not the older guard, like Tamar? May I suggest blue and white striped shirts, with a large star of David in gold? And navy pants and skirts? It would not be alal bad, Tamar, if, with Obama, you could proclaim *yes, we can* and then implement it...for Israel. By the way, Tamar, at the start of WWII the Germans were able to just walk into The Netherlands without any resistance. Weak military. Police did not cary weapons, and no civilian defense force. Even though a civilian defense force is not used for military purposes, it is an organization which can apply aid. It may also be an organization with enough contacts to start a trained militia, which in case of outside aggression could organize. The two are not the same. To equate this with the conditions under the bolsjeviks or nazis, is inane. Those were the 1800\'s and early 1900\'s in very different societies and under very different circumstances. But, again, if Tamar is all for proselytizing, by all means, let her continue her efforts. I, as a former target of such proseletyzing, and no jew has ever approached me for that purpose, nor anyone I would know of, have nothing good to say about that. You see, Tamar, those forces are already organized. Several churches and their pastors get together in the messianic movement for example, they target specific jews and exchange names, telephone nrs, addresses of individuals, and then they go to work on such an individual. They use little slips of paper and pass the data on. It is already an existing *civil service group*, and their tentacles are everywhere. Nothing wrong with that, from their perspective, it is their mandate to bring Tamar and others to Jesus. You see, Tamar is just misguided. All would be well in the world, and peace would finally reign, if we jews would bend our stiff necks. They think nothing of obfuscation, dissembling and outright lies. It is for a greater good. To me, if it is a lie it can not come from G-d. If a jew does it, it still does not come from G-d.  ");

By the way, I did a week of pseudo-IDF on a program for North American tourists when I was 16 and it was tremendously influential at that time. And that was only 7 days! Also, a 3-month program, once instituted and accepted, can easily be lengthened and intensified. If it was introduced from the outset as a 2-year intensive program or as a program for under-18, even pro-Obamaists would reject it.\n\nAnd regarding Obama himself: \n\nFact #1: He actively campaigned in Kenya for a man who openly desired to institute Sharia Law against a candidate who declared a more democratic platform. This is what OTHER American citizens are saying, and I am letting you all know about it. His campaign used intimidation techniques which I cannot recall being used before from any previous presidential candidates, whether it was Nixon, Carter, Reagan, Bush or even Clinton.  It may just be \'Chicago tactics\' (I use this term loosely), but having an Obama \'Youth\', a special Obama insignia, and an Obama \'Truth Squad\' that harassed and intimidated people ...is disturbing. Therefore, this \'draft\' or \'universal service\' described is worrisome, especially since there is already a National Guard and U.S. military, and that the military tries to provide for their solider\'s religious needs.  The fact that this  (HR 1388)  bill does not allow people to fulfill their religious obligations should put up a red flag, especially for Jewish Americans.  ");

Under # 7 above, Tamar cites the prohibition to engage in proselytizing of any kind as a real and imminent danger to jews. THAT surprises me. I see that very differently. Usually, jews do not proselytize. It is the christian and the muslim who proselytizes. I have been the subject of such attempts on more than one occasion. I can tell you, again from personal experience, that if you are surrounded by a large group of people and they start walking, you have no choice but to walk with them, or you get trampled. There is no way to break that chain if the group is determined to keep you in there. I am speaking about literal occurrence here.That is just one method being used by some christians to get a jew to the baptismal whatchamacallit. Another method is setting up a *messianic jewish congregation* and then suggesting that a jew get a mikvah (in a bathtub). When you have a group of determined people together, even if under another umbrella, it facilitates proselytizing and forced conversion. THAT IS FORBIDDEN as per # 7, above. There would be no blog, if that were not to be there. For example, I have a problem with Tamar\'s utterances and I post my opinion. Of course, since this is the Amen-Chorus website thread, we get *rebuttals*. and then I write a little more. The objective I am personally after is that people think about the various points of the discourse and then do some real investigation on FACTS!! I am - almost - 75 yrs old and a grandma. I speak of what I personally know, not hearsay. I had great fun when I was - temporarily - a high school teacher. But Israel is not about fun. Its survival is at stake. It is simply mindboggling that no one said much of anything about the *roadmap* and now Obama, after two months in Office, is suddenly the villain. Maybe he is. I do not see it. We would need real proof and facts. So far, not supplied. An U.S. domestic service corps has no effect, whatsoever, in Israel or on Israeli politics. Americans voted Republicans out of Office for a reason (or two). Judaism and Christianity are not the same religion, and for that reason if christians determine the government in another than the Israeli Nation, Israelis should not necessarily follow their lead. The Power of the President of the U.S. is limited. There are checks and balances. There are regular elections. The power of the Christian Right, however, is not held in check by such restrictions. True, neither are socalled *liberals*. But socalled *liberals* do not have large powers of international religious organizations behind them as one cohesive group. Larry, I think that today large international organizations and groups, such as industries, financial powers and religious powers hold the strings of societies, more so than the societies do. THAT is a danger. These powers are in danger of falling apart, sometimes, as we see now in the international financial world, like a house of cards. But when such powers derive from religion, other forces are at work. As long a s Judaism is a minority religion we must be careful I, personally, think remaining alert is useful, and calling a spade a spade, rather than something else, keeps us grounded. But, a spade can not be used to plough thin air and build anything constructive to hold the force of a melting glacier. I also would like to remind Tamar of the story of the new clothes of the emperor. If the emperor does not wear clothes it is a child who may cry, but he is naked. On the other hand, if the emperor is fully dressed, and an adult yells out, the emperor is naked, we might say, well, this is an adult and she is seeing things that are not there..in casu a naked body.");

Even messianic *jews* are good people, and many muslims are good people too. But all of them have a mandate which is to promote their religion and to convert. That is a fact and can not be denied. IF you have nothing to contribute, and nothing you can base your claims on, you villify the opponent. For Republicans, rightwing sources you listen to, there is more at stake, their power and grip over money and others\' lives. If they have something to say, other than slander, they should come with ideas, programs, proof, solutions. Just remember, those same sources tell Israel what to do, and what they are telling Israel is to make a Palestinian state within the state of Israel, or else. It is not Obama per se. He says that Palestinians must be understood, and their poverty taken into account. I do not agree with that either. What I understand is that the PLO tried an armed coup in Jordan, that Hezbullah created a separate entity within Lebanon and that Hamas derives from a similar organisation in Egypt. Those are legitimate counter arguments. The argument about *proportionality* used against Israel in the latest action in Israel could have been applied to the *proportionality* of freeing whole prisons full of terrorists and murderers in exchange for one kidnapped 19-yr old in Israel, who has not been seen or heard of. For an Israeli, like Tamar, it appears to me to be much more urgent to make the case for Israeli causes. Her christianbased rhetoric against Mr. Obama is not even christian. Slander is also prohibited to christians. As Rabbi Jesus said: do not even say raca, or let him who is without sin cast the first stone. So, you see, whatever angle you approach it with, Tamar is incorrect in her surmising and continuous faultfinding. This apart from the fact that she is not an American and thus meddles.That is inappropriate. If she had her own blog she could do it. She does not. She publishes her imaginations on an official jewish website. And then it becomes an official jewish conservative *opinion*. I resent that.");

Mr. Obama is a scholar and has taught Constitutional Law @ an University. As for assocciation, sometimes one can learn a lot what people are about by associating with them, hearing what they have to say and what they stand for. I can not see into Mr. Obama\'s mind, but I am much less concerned with his inclinations than the readership here is, or the religious/Republican Right advertises to be. I grew up in Amsterdam with people of different nations, beliefs and origins. Many Dutch nationals were born in what is now Indonesia. My husband was born there as well. We had meals together. There is a way that the Dutch know how to incorporate and take into consideration others\' sensitivities, food preferences, etc. In another\'s home I was served a meal that reasonably took my concerns into consideration. On the other hand, a Portuguese jew of our acquaintance would not in in a kosher Ashkenazim home, or vice versa. We respected that too. I have lived among nazis during WWII. I have also had muslim acquaintances at University. I am not afraid of Mr. Obama. On the other hand, Republicans and many christians have shown a face (and results) I have serious problems with. Issues jews have with kosher meals, keeping a minyan, etc. could be arranged for outside of a non religious organization. It has been done that way forever. In Amsterdam jews who worked at my bank got off early Friday and all Saturday, when the rest still had to work. They got off on jewish holidays. Religion is a private matter, not a government issue. We always were very relaxed about it, and able to learn from others about their cultures and beliefs. Again, the issue with Tamar is that she gets into U.S. politics which are NOT her business as an Israeli citizen, if she is that. Just as Israeli politics is NOT my business, even though I am a jew. She also keeps repeating *facts* which have long ago been officially refuted in the courts. These *facts* have been insinuated by religious rightwing groups. As long as she keeps on doing so without stating the real facts, or even citing other and legal opinions, she is speaking evil. She is also doing so by stating issues which are pure hearsay and not based on any reality. She is *imagining* things. She even knows what Mr. Obama is going to say when her imaginations come to pass. That in doing so  she also implicates a fellow jew does not even bother her. As it does not bother the religious right. I have a problem with that. Tamar is entitled to her opinions. However, she is publishing her imaginations on a jewish website, and as such it will be seen as a *jewish* position. \nTo me a *jewish* position is to be a light to the world. To help. To lift up the poor and the sick. A beggar once came to our door when I was a little girl. My father gave him a meal in our kitchen and talked to him. He also gave him money and a job in his company. I asked him, how do you know this man is poor, needs a meal, or a job? The answer was: *if you HAVE to ask*!!  And it is not my business whether this man speaks the truth or not. I was asked to help, I help. If he lies that is on his head. If I deny a poor person a slice of bread or alms, it is on my head. We say the Shema. Listen and Hear!! I always have my eyes and ears open, and I remember. For Tamar, even Nazism is hearsay. She was not there. I was. I also was inside a concentrationcamp. Obama has done volunteer/community service, while he could have made a career in Law and @ the University. Being President is a government job and service. I know black people. They help. They are religious, not my religion, but religious, and they put it into action. I have also known people who snipe, sit behind curtains and discuss the passersby. Nothing good comes of that.");

The Rahm Emanuel *video* is a select and out of context quote for the purpose of political propaganda. Does Obama engage in political propaganda? Absolutely! And he does so openly. He requests people\'s participation. Does the other *camp* do the same thing? Yes, and they have done so. They do not shy away from ad hominem inuendo and lies. Am I for a three months service program in the U.S.? My children and grandchildren are above the age. My great grandchildren  will have, still, the power to vote any party out of Office. It is not my decision. However, I see nothing wrong with service to one\'s country for three months. As for the brown shirts, green shirts for the boy and girl scouts, blue shirts in The Netherlands for the AJC, whatever, there are some youngsters who like to participate in that. I was not one of those. When my children wanted to participate in such a group, I was in charge of such a group and kept an eye on it. Hitler Jugend, Tamar, were dressed all in black. They had real weapons and long swords. They came to my class in school and exercised in our playground.Communism was an idea incubated by a jew and many jews were, initially, members. Service to one\'s country can take a number of forms. It may be military service. Sometimes it takes the form of internships during education. No, Mr. Obama is NOT my Messiah, Tamar. He is now my President. I did vote for him, because he was the candidate of the Democratic Party, but my initial choice was Mrs Clinton. I do not participate in any political party events, ever. What disgusts me, Tamar, is slander, inuendo, and twisting of words and facts. The Republican Party in the U.S. blew it. Mr. McCain blew it. He could not be bothered. His choice of Vice President was laughed off in the U.S. What you really ought to be concerned about, Tamar, is Christian efforts to convert jews. There has been a small tornado in a glass of water about christian Hagadahs. You missed it. What is much more important is, that you missed that this is not new and that such christian forgeries, especially this one, have been around. I saw the first one in the early eighties. It is not someone like Mr. Obama, Tamar, who produces those forgeries. It is a coalition of christian churches. Now, before you go off into orbit again, I have nothing against christians and christian churches...for christians. I even have no problem with Jesus. I read the text which he supposedly has spoken. Nothing in there much that offends me. And Jesus never converted to christianity; he was a jewish Rabbi if he existed at all. You should not get on anyone\'s bandwaggon, Tamar. That is the problem. You are an easy and willing victim. It is, in the U.S., the Christian ultra right, which is at the forefront of advertising a Messiah, of converting jews and others. That is their mandate, Tamar. As for Mr. Obama, he will be in Office for four years. During this period he gets flack and also praise, or even disinterest in his ideas. If Mr. Obama does not deliver, out he will go. The word *universal* is attacked in the socalled *video*. Obama has nothing *universal* yet, not even universal healthcare. He proposes a hybrid, mixed economic, model. He was voted into Office not to be a Messiah, but to bring an end to a.o. people going broke because of healthcare issues, and not being able to get hired to work, because of healthcare issues. Mr. Obama is an attractive and intelligent man, who speaks well, and is very well educated, a.o. in Constitutional Law which he taught. He certainly is an engaging figure. At age 75, though, Tamar, I do not get all that excited about men the age of my children. I do get excited about some political issues. As many in my family are doctors, and I have friends who are doctors as well, healthcare is an issue I am interested in. And a few other issues. When a jew uses ad hominem attacks and slander, that is an issue that offends me, because that offender does not speak only for herself. When a jew willingly uses slanted and twisted videos, with out of context texts, that concerns me. It offends me and makes me indignant. The issue is not which political party you want to promote. The issue is lies, slander and letting yourself being used.");

It is not automatically.  some of you, and this included Jewish youth, would make better livings as electricians, plumbers, painters, carpenters and other SKILLED trades.  There is no reason to become a slave to student loans to have financial and personal success. My wonderful son-in-law had a father with a PhD. and some of his siblings are well educated but D chose to become a master carpenter. He also can do just about anything else. He is WORKING even in this economy. His skill are in demand while all those cube dwellers and other \"service\" people are collecting unemployment.  So I agree with Tamar, Jews, get out now because I see a scenario where passports will be withheld form these kids, pending completion of this service and maybe extending to the families. Gentiles, we will be praying for you but if this bill gets passed as written, find other ways to serve, e.g. regular military. Don\'t forget the most overlooked branch of service the Coast Guard. It lets you serve but keeps you out fof foreign war zones and is also responsible of rivers and large lakes so you in the Heartland may not have to move to either Ocean coast.  ");

They have priests, rabbis and other religious leaders on staff to give spiritual guidance to their servicemen and women.  If they can have religious clergy sent to bases all over the world to serve their inductees, then certainly it would be even easier to allow people to keep their religion as best they can domestically, wouldn\'t it?");

Last year a friend sent me a job advertisement with Homeland Security for a position that involved twisting words to make them more palatable to the public.  I was deeply offended that she thought I would sell my soul to the devil (literally!) for an increase in so-called \"job security\" with the Ministry of Propaganda.  Sickening.");

It is inevitable but at the same time as long as we have a voice to stand against such decisions we should. Not everyone who gets a studentloan will have to serve either. Service will be a way to not have to pay back all, or part, of the studentloan. Jews will not be prevented from forming minyan. As has been the case in the U.S. government and religion are to be separate, and the service can not be used to force one\'s religion upon another. To request service to fellow citizens has nothing to do with brownshirts either. It is a function of volunteerism, like the peacecorps. No one made anyone go into the peacecorps either. It really is time to stop smoking those funny cigarettes now, Tamar. Get a grip. You are off into lalaland.This is beyond shoddy *journalism*. Some links for you, Tamar: www.aish.com, www.Torah.org,  subject: evil speech. Have you heard of it? L\'shon hara! Disgusting!!!\n\nDear Yvonne, I have studied and attended classes (actually for years) on Lashon Harah (evil speech) and this is not lashon harah.  But I assume you do not have as much knowlege in this as is seen in your other statements about what Judaism \'should\' be when comapred against your liberal western mentality.  I also assume that you mean well, so please let me explain to you, that when information is brought to the public, even though it may be painful to know, it is not only allowed, but mandatory, to do so when it is to warn people from stumbling, to help from anything that could prevent them from performing the mitzvoth, and to save lives.  According to your philosophy, what Jabotinski did was \'disgusting\' and lashon harah, and all the warnings for Jews to get out of Europe was also lashon harah because it said negative things about de fuhrer! \n");

But seriously Tamar, I know you want the USA to crash and burn, and G-d bless you for that :-), but relax, this is the land of the free and home of the brave, Yahoo!\n\nTamar responds:  I want to state here and now that I do NOT take joy in America -using your terms, \'crash and burn\'.  I have a lot of gratitude to America and I think it is darned best country in the world today (except for Jews, as Israel is best darned place for us! ;-) ) And it saddens me what is happening there, and I have been showing what is happening in hopes that Americans would get off their couches or out of their stupor and DO something about it before it is too late.  The U.S. Constitution, a beautiful document, has been a guiding light for freedom and rights for all, and should be cherished by the American People, but it needs to be protected.  Sadly, I do not see enough Americans taking up the challenge.  When I start to talk about it, and cover stories where the constitution is being trampled, I get flak for it...  take Yvonne, bless her soul.  I am sure she will be posting here how I should focus on Israel and leave her Messiah alone.  (grin). She labels me a \'republican\' because I brought up things that make me uncomfortbale about Obama.  She doesn\'t recognize that I wrote the same about Bush when he would trample the constitution or do evil against Israel. (sigh)  But alright, I let her and others flame.  I care too much about America\'s great values falling by the way side and not enough Americans picking up the pieces.  It is sad for me to watch a  once-great country go down and be sucked up by the Babel-ists (my term), it\'s great values trampled and disrespected.   So Rob, NO, I do NOT take pleasure at all, on the contrary, I feel very, very sad to witness what is happening in America.  I am surprised anyone at all would think that I did. What you MAY say about me is that seeing this, I am begging my brothers and sisters in the Exile to come home to Israel, as I see the world in a sitaution today not unlike the 1930\'s in Europe, the Jews will be blamed for many of the problems and I know there is no future there anymore for them there, in fact, I sense extreme danger.\n");
