They had Hamas on the ropes, and instead of annihilating them completely, they allowed them to continue to survive and harass Israel at a later date. Also, Israel had the best chance ever to demand the release of Gilad Shalit, or at the very least learn his fate, whether he is still even alive or not. These decisions were made politically, and not based upon the attainment of military objectives. At the very least, the primary object of the operation was to end Hamas\' ability to fire rockets. This even most basic objective, along with stopping Hamas\' ability to rearm, has clearly not been achieved. This is the testament of a morally bankrupt, and inept Israeli administration. For Israel\'s sake, I do hope the people \"wise up\" and elect someone who truly has the security of the nation as a top priority.");
