Secondly, you ony need ONE ICBM to intimidate the Russians AND the Americans AND the Chinese.  No American president would sacrifice Washington, D.C. for Ramallah.  No Russian president would sacrifice Moscow for Ramallah.  And no Chinese premier would sacrifice Peking for Ramallah.\n\nWhat is lacking is not the weaponry, but the demonstrable will to USE the weaponry.");

I sight the precariously aimed missiles being fired regularly from the Gaza strip into Israel. I admire the restraint the Israelis have applied so far, but from what I know about Islam, one day, one death, one minute of tolerance is too much. Overwhelming force and (I hate to even think this) but overwhelming destruction of the Palestinians who have (if not participated) have, by inaction to stop their nations insanity is long over due.");

AddReply(375516,"To Mr Freund and others: Be careful what you wish for","Michelle","Vancouver","12/28/08","Mr Freund\'s wishes for \"nothing less than the toppling of the Hamas government and the reassertion of complete Israeli military control over Gaza.\"\n\nThe obstinate determination of Hamas not to play along with the Quartet and their Roadmap to Israel\'s Destruction has been - in a very strange way - the nationalists\' insurance policy against the establishment of a \'viable Palestine state\'.\n\nTaking back Gaza at this moment, while the left still has a strong grip on the country, would be playing the Quartet\'s game:  risking IDF lives to fight for Gaza only to pass it right along to Fatah.  \n\nAnd we all know that Fatah\'s reputation as a peace partner is a complete fraud.  Furthermore, Hamas is more popular and eventually it\'s bound to take power over the entire territory.  Propping up weak regimes has never worked.\n\nSo taking Gaza now and doing the only thing that the government is willing to do with it, that is surrender it to Fatah, would lead to the eventual loss of Judea, Samaria, a land corridor between them and Gaza, eastern Jerusalem... and things can only get much worse from that point on....\n\nSo, let\'s hope this operation is just a show of strength aimed at teaching them a lesson (it won\'t), and that we can wait for a Jewish government to retake and resettle Gaza.  \n\nAs for the Arab population living there, 40% already want to leave.  The Jews could persuade the rest.  They can give them financial aid and make arrangements for them to reach Eurabia or other lands.  Same thing for the other Arabs in Israel, including the fifth column.\n\nBTW, little Chile took in Muslim refugees from Iraq recently and just now it condemned Israel for its actions against Gaza.  There you have an example of a Gaza-loving country where you least expect it.   I\'m sure they would welcome Gazans with open arms.  Or they should, if they mean what they say.  And the rest of the world loves Gazans and hates Israel, so the possibilities for Arab emigration are many.");

It\'s really individual perspectives on the VALUE of such an action. Either way, Israel\'s position is strong and weak. To re-occupy 1m Arabs is nonsensical and costly. (Lets not look over our shoulder at the disengagement). Not to diminish Hamas\'s hold, is equally costly. Israel has to win this won, and depose Hamas. If not, look for many Iranian attempts to break the \"Siege\" and more. Iran, Syria, Hez and Hamas will be embolden. Israel will have worse problems. Israel MUST, either by itself, or jointly with Fatah, replace Hamas..That should pluck Iranian and Syrian and Hez feathers..or burn them severely. The Israelis, like their leaders, are confused..disunited, weakened. This only aids it\'s enemies. It cannot repeat Lebanon at all costs. (Hez is biding it\'s time in all this). ");
