Just two days ago I finished Leon Uris’s book Arma-geddon. He was a great writer and historian even so I wish he wouldn’t constantly use Gd or JC throughout his books and no it’s not G-d. At times, as a German the Airlift and radio RIAS really touched my heart. It was heart to keep my tears from welling up and it showed to me what made America truly great. But it also exposed again the tactics of intimidation displayed by the Soviet Union which are all too well known. Communism was for a Western German a real threat. With Soviet troops in the GDR we knew all too well that we were able to be invaded within one night’s mission and we would wake up the next day as an occupied country under Soviet forces. After reading the book, I looked at the intimidation tactics perpatreded by the Obama campaign against anyone who critizises him. Whether it was to send Secret Service Agents to the door of a Republican who made rude comments to an Obama caller on the phone and then was accused of making death threats or the character assassination of “Joe the Plumber”, the similarities had a chilling effect on me. Whether it is the possibility that Islam will have more free reign in America or that within the next four years we may move towards becoming a Soviet like country, Obama is bad news.\n");
