Property in Jerusalem may not be property in Israel. A child born in Israel may become stateless in the future. How so? This child has the American nationality. Well, because of war and other issues, that may become a matter of dispute. After WWII there were many displaced persons, and they had become stateless (without citizenship) because of a number of different causes. If the American parents of the child born in Jerusalem would move to Jerusalem, or elsewhere in Israel, and later part, or all, of Israel would become Palestinian, and the parents would renounce their U.S. citizenship for some obscure reason - say the U.S. had become of a political persuasion the parents did not agree with, the child might also no longer be an U.S. citizen, but being born in Jerusalem - no country - he would be stateless. There are more complicated issues as well. But, back to buying property in Israel, the status of Jerusalem is that it is not Israeli territory, apparently. ");
