The answer is because the ascending infrastructure was being built by Jewish slaves, who were captured by the Romans during the horrific Jerusalem slaughter just years before.\nBecause they refused to stop the captured Jewish slaves, they ultimately committed suicide.\n\n\n\nIt is a tragedy of utmost proportions that this Yeshiva Scholar/Soldier is facilitating the IDF\'s continued cruel and oppressive occupation of Yitzhar and other Yesha communities.  But if the residents of Yitzhar will forego self-defense because of him, they are choosing suicide.\n\nMike is right this time.\n");

See Dr. KIein\'s comments above towards the end.  He writes as follows \n- \"Though I understand the frustration of the Jews of Yitzhar, I unreservedly disapprove of their throwing stones at IDF soldiers in Yosh. Or should not be. \n\nI am against violence of this sort, so whoever did it should be punished, including if that \'who\' is a government agent(s). We don\'t know, and of course the mainstream media will \'convict\' the entire nationalist opposition rather than launch an objective inquiry.\n\nAt the same time, reading this made me think of other pieces where the writer said the next generation would be the ones to face down a gov\'t which is also a semi-police state. It sounds like Dr. Klein is saying in so many words, \'I won\'t take militant actions but it\'s okay if my kids do.\' Which sounds like \'someday we\'ll have to but I can\'t.\' \n\nIf that analysis is correct, then he should just say he\'s not willing to physically resist the next Gush Katif. It seems to me that if lawful communities in Judea/Samaria are targeted for \'disengagements\' than such resistance is legitimate. Though I am far closer to Klein\'s age than to his kids, I would most likely participate. \n\nOf course, reading about the Sternhell episode and what Olmert and Livni are doing with it makes me wonder if there really is hope for Israel in the long run.");

First, I\'m inclined to side with Wilder\'s take on this.\n\nSecond, is the real issue Jewish violence against Jews or Jewish violence against ISRAELIS?\n\nThird, since when is nonviolence Jewish? I mean, I wear no kippah, but by now I know something about Halacha just from hanging around here, and Klein even references Chazal, who seems to oppose ... Klein!\n\nFourth, why conflate the use of violent means with civil war?  This is a leftist trick from way back, and the so-called Right has always played into it.  E.g., when Ben-Gurion and Peres tried to murder Begin and then \"fretted\" publicly, along with Begin, about civil war.  Civil war is two-way street, and it can be avoided by eiher or both parties.  May I suggest that we view the situation in Israel as a war that is to be avoided by making escalation dangerous to the Left?  As a scientific matter, \"tit for tat\" is a robust approach.\n\nFifth, agitating for Medinat Yehudah is an alternative to civil war, as it does NOT involve fighting to gain control over Israel, but over Judeah.\n\nSixth, if Dr. Klein is going to write a piece like this, does he also oppose nonviolent direct action?  If so, does he have evidence that elections or public yakking will fix this decades-old problem?  If not, why not advocate this alternative approach?  I\'m still waiting for ACT UP/Settlers to have its first meeting.\n\nSeventh, everything that I have said here should have been obvious to Dr. Klein.  But when smart people do not write smart pieces--especially when their own Jewish values would lead them to--I immediately suspect unthinking, conditioned responses being the root cause.");

Both are undesirable. Both shall in time suffer the consequences of wrong decisions.\n\nCivil war in Israel is a preplanned tactic, its goal is to divide and conquer. Only the globalist will emerge the true winner, in the short run. \n\nAnyone can shout fight, fight, fight, but does anyone see those who shout it the loudest fighting? No? Why not?\n\nThe answer lies in the fact that those who promote violence know in their hearts that they cannot \"win\" either. Why is that?\n\nThe answer lies in the fact that \"SAMPSON  IS BOUND\"! Could Sampson \"fight\" he would do so. It is that simple. What then lies in store for Israel in this impossible situation?\n\nAnswer: according to the TANAKH, war is inevitable. Not just Israel will be involved, but the whole planet.\n\nNow is the time for parents to look after the welfare of their children. Now is the time for children to look after their parents. Now is the time for all of us to repent, look to Hashem, and prepare for the worst while hopeing for the best.\n\nNow is the time to study the TANAKH for only it has the clues and answers for our survival.\n\nThe good news is, HaShem will save those who are righteous for Himself, whether it be in this life, or the one to come. The good news is: among the righteous WILL BE SURVIVORS!\n\nNo one else has that promise. The TANAkh says, \"even the mightiest soldier will flee away naked on that day\" (Amos). \"And they who are wise will shine like the brightness of heaven; and those who turn many to righteousness - as the stars for ever and ever.\"\n\nThere is great hope for the future even as the day darkens.  Moms, their is still hope and reason to be encouraged for your children - even tho the bodies of the dead pile high.\n\nNo one has the hope and promises of the Jew, except the Jew and those who align with us. But neither can we expect the right to act like complete pacifists and not fight back against agression. When there is an attack by Arabs, and the IDF stands by and watches, and intervenes only if the Jews attempt to defend themselves and their fields, this is already setting the stage for civil war. When further none of the Arab aggressors is even detained for questioning, but the Jews are arrested, we are already seeing a major split in the country. When the lies of Arabs, egged on by their left-wing inciters, are automatically believed, while statement of Jews are ignored, we have already reached the situation of two antagonistic parties. Add to this the various forms of preventative detention for members of the right only, while Arab and leftist rioters are unmolested, we already have a split between the government and a nationalist group of Jews that brings back unpleasant memories. What the actions of the government remind me of are the actions of the British pre 1948. The government will have to modify its unthinking leftist position. If not, while we are not yet to the formation of groups like Etzel and Lehi, we will soon see it. ");
