If you would like other JEWISH sources for Moshiac ben Yoseph, I\'d be happy to post them for you. Thanks, Rob\n\nPS. AddReply(338803,"Adam about moschiach ben Yosef","Velvel","silver spring","09/01/08","There is one moschiach.  Moschiach ben David.  Where did this other idea even come from?  Is it not agaddah?    I enjoyed your explanation.  kol hakavod.\n\n Certainly \'moshiach ben Yosef\' is a metaphor for something, perhaps it is secular zionist movement as you say; that is quite original.");
AddReply(338400,"Secular Zionism is (almost) dead - Rav Kook was right!","Adam","Monsey, NY","08/31/08","Rav Kook wrote that Moshiach ben Yosef could be a concept rather than a person - that concept being secular Zionism.  Moshiach ben Yosef is supposed to rise up, win military victories against the Jewish people\'s enemies, and re-establish Jewish soverignty in Israel.  Then he (or it) is supposed to die, paving the way for Moshiach ben David - the messiah with which most of us are more familiar.\n\nJabotinsky, Herzl, etc. are dead - both physically and ideologically.  The last secular Zionist is President Shimon Peres (although rumor has it that even he is experimenting with sabbath observance).  When Peres dies, secular Zionism will die with him.  \n\nReligious Zionism continues to grow and thrive.  More importantly, the \"secular\" population of Israel today no longer separates a love of the Land from a love of G-d.  \n\nThe vast majority of today\'s \"secular\" Israelis are not secular at all.  They may not (yet) be completely Torah observant, but they try to incorporate Torah into their lives in one way or another, and this is commendable. \n\nThey are a far cry from the secular Zionists who would go out of their way to have pork BBQ\'s all year round and bake fresh loaves of bread on Passover.\n\nIt is incumbent upon those of us who have some Torah knowledge to lovingly share it with our Jewish brothers and sisters.\n\n\nMay this \"Moshiach ben Yosef\" die completely very soon, and may we all witness the coming of Moshiach ben David!");

The \"mainstream\" Haganah believed in self-restraint that meant not even hurting men, and only letting the arabs strike but not striking back.  Remind you of anything?");
AddReply(338025,"Jabotinsky was delusional","Mike","Vienna, VA","08/29/08","To his nonsense, the best response is provided by R. Kahane (z\"l): \"The contempt they [the left] feel for the Arab is incredible.  You cannot buy a man\'s national pride with a flush toilet!\"\n\nThe entire rotten edifice of Zionism is the problem.  At this point, it breeds only heresy and Jewish antisemitism.  Like manure is necessary to fertilize a seed, the smelly pile of Zionist ideological (waste) was needed solely in order to provide the precursors for R. Kahane (z\"l).  \n\nThere is only one answer to the current predicament and there always was only one answer -- Judaism, not Zionism.  A Torah State, not a Zionist State.  \n\nThose who STILL don\'t understand are welcome to visit the virtual Medinat Yehudah and READ.");
