A bus driver has to be in total control of his bus but then again, should be broadminded enough to realize that everyone else may not have been aware of the change in \'stops\'  Its very understandable in Israel mindset is totally disrupted by terrorist threat, rockets and government leaders  so give em\' a break ya\'ll -- you could be wearin \'his\' shoes!   Thinkin before actin is still allowed, most everywhere!               [ty, good blog]");

Personally, I would have let the bus go, depending. Had I done what you did, I would probably have tried a joke on the driver. I agree with Chava, that there are also public acts of kindness. People frequently give to beggars in Tel Aviv. People accosted by \'street people\' sometimes try to help them. What you are really pointing to, I believe, is the extreme irritability that pops up in daily Israeli life. You also exhibit it frequently on these blogs, so the story doesn\'t really impress me. \n\nWhat I think the irritability does imply is the ghetto-ish mind-set that Israelis often reveal, 60 years after the founding of the state. It is an attitude appropriate a population of refugees that built lives in Israel because \'they couldn\'t go elsewhere.\' Of course, this is a wild generalization, like yours, and does not describe all the heroic Israelis that do, and have, existed, since the days of the Biluim in the late 19th century. \n\nOr maybe a lot of this behavior is just how Jews treat other Jews, when \'no one is watching?\' Certainly, the \'average Israel\' seems to believe rudeness is a prerogative.\n\n");

This is why we have LEADERS and a minority of committed followers who change things, whether the sheeple like it or not.  The problem with the idiots who have been mis-leading the so-called right in the Holy Land is that they keep expecting the sheeple to somehow rise up and hold the Israeli elite accountable.  In reality, only committed young men and women acting with decisiveness and secrecy can hold the elitist murderers responsible for their actions.");

Since I\'m unable to walk on a moving bus, I wait until the next stop to go to my seat. Sometimes there aren\'t people at the stops, and often the driver will stop just to allow me to walk to my seat. I\'ve seen drivers help mothers get their strollers off the bus. I\'ve seen drivers allow people to get on at a red light (your situation) or wait a few seconds when he notices someone running towards the bus stop.  But have you seen the posted signs that the driver is not permitted to allow people to get on or off anywhere except at designated stops. Bus driving is really a difficult job.  Kol hakavod to them.");
