Blame the Saudis for losing both the banks of the Jordan River. \n\nIt was the Saudis who started ALL the trouble in the Middle East, when they overthrew the Hashemites from the HIJAZ in 1925, which is now OCCUPIED by the Saudis.\n\nAfter the collapse of the Ottoman power,  Hussein bin Ali ruled the independent Hijaz between 1917-1924, and proclaimed himself king.  He is the great-great-grandfather of the current King Abdullah II of Jordan.  \n\nTheir chief rivals was the chieftain of the Najd highlands named Ibn Saud, who saw that the mosques in Mecca & Medina brought in lucrative business to the Hashemites.  This was the main reason that the Saud family annexed the Hijaz in 1925 and incorporated it into Saudi Arabia.  This was decades before oil was discovered in Saudi Arabia.  \n\nWhen the Hashemites were displaced, the British Mandate which allotted the entire Trans Jordan area to the Jews, now had to accommodate Hashemites who had helped the British in the revolt against the Ottomans.   That\'s how the two banks of the Jordan were separated.\n\nCondi Rice needs to learn this, before she shoves the Saudi\'s \"Road Map to Peace\" down the throat of Israel.  She can at least read \'The Cradle of Islam\' by Mai Yamani, 2005, about Saudi Arabia, Islam and tthe Hijaz, to learn the truth.\n\nMention HIJAZ to the Saudis, whenever they talk about Palestine as OCCUPIED land!!!  See the rage that overtakes them!\n\nSolve all the Middle East problem by telling the Saudis to vacate the Hijaz and give it to original owners.  ");
