As for Israel being \"more powerful\" than Judah, you are completely wrong.  Israel is the weakest nation on Earth, weaker even than the United States.  Israel has no WILL TO FIGHT.  Therefore, it does not matter what fancy toys the vIsraelis have or how many of these toys they have.  Which is why Hamas is winning, though its brave warriors match rusty AKs and homemade model rockets against the cowardly Israelis\' multi-million-dollar tanks and airplanes.");

AddReply(253371,"mike\'s fantasy.","sk","USA","11/30/07","What will a \"Jewish state\" look like?  Well, historically, it will look a lot like a shtetl.  They sure were secure places.  Or will a bunch of Maccabees arise and fight gloriously?  In that case, expect that a \"Jewish\" Judea will indeed be created and will then be perpetually at war with a secular Israel, which will always be more militarily powerful.\n\nIt\'s time to end these fantasies.  When religions gain temporal power they become corrupt and tyrannical.  It has happened with Christianity and now it has happened with Judaism.  Of course, Islam, which recognizes no separation between religious and temporal power, is maximally corrupt and tyrannical (plus, its doctrine sucks, but that\'s another matter.)  Thus, the laughable rabbinate of Israel--which is even more of a joke than American reform rabbis, because the Americans at least don\'t undermine American security.\n\nAs I have said many, many times so far, the average Israeli could change Israel\'s governmental structure very quickly.  If half the Orthodox Zionists refused any military service until fundamental changes occurred in Israel\'s political system, this would a whole lot more impact than talk of Torah portions.\n\nIsrael has to be a place where anyone Halachically Jewish can live.  The most effective way for that to happen is to improve Israel\'s democracy, and the ways to do that are obvious:  single-member, geographically based Knesset districts, popular control of Supreme Court appointments, recall of individual leglislators all the way up the Supreme Court justices, etc.  Oh yes, and REMOVING the temporal powers of rabbis.  They should get no money from government, and they should get no political power from it.  RIGHT NOW, Shas works against Jewish interests because there is not ENOUGH separation between religious and temporal powers in Israel.\n\nWhat isn\'t clear about this?");

He yearns for a Palestinian state. He sets a Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital above his highest joy.\'\n\nIf Olmert yearns for a Palestinian State, there\'s one already on the east of Jordan. He & his family can immigrate there & enjoy the company of Palestinians. \n\nIsraeli public opinion can very well be manipulated by the liberal news media. The media can even distort the Israeli public opinion.
