It\'s better to be ones own boss in ones own business, than have a job to be bossed by snobs.   \n\nTry teaching a biochemistry class at high noon, when students are already bogged down by other  morning schedules & just wait to open their noisy lunch bags in class!   These same snobs upon graduation will work as technicians in some pharmaceutical or other industry & earn more than a professor at the univ.\n\nFor the pittance they pay at the university, the only benefit one gets is free education for self & for children; or if it has a medical school, one has the benefit of being a guinea pig to hone the interns\' practical skills.  But if one has no children, these benefits aren\'\'t worth it.   \n\nIt\'s good to know that the children of relatives & friends can go to Israel for graduate studies at a much cheaper rate than it\'s in the US!!!");

AddReply(202996,"What about the \'poor\' students?","jew","in israel","05/16/07","I was a student here in university and I found it very hard to pay tuition, AND pay rent, AND pay transportation (sometimes I took 4 busses a day to get to and from school).  Sometimes, i took my parent\'s car to school.  So what?  maybe half those cars are also the cars of their parents.  Maybe ALL of those cars are their parent\'s.  Also, we are all after the army, and perhaps some of our service should give us an entitlement to help after serving.  We don\'t have money to buy cars after the army, so i don\'t know if all those cars and luxuries are really theirs, or the teachers and staff.    Trying to study AND work to pay tuition and rent and food, and other living expenses (utilities, books, etc) adds up, and many students have to eventually quit school with un-finished degrees.  I am not saying to make everything free, but I think you are forgetting what it was like to struggle, hold a job, and study all at the same time. -  and doing it AFTER we gave years of our lives to the army!");
