It is the first time that we have REALLY lived. 3 days before Tu B\'Shevat we saw blossoms on the Almond trees. Growing up in the Midwest where there is snow on the ground we had no clue what Tu B\'Shevat REALLY is.\nWe went for lunch yesterday. A special wedding anniversary treat. We went to a cafeteria in an office building in the Hi Tech Industrial Park on the north side of Jerusalem. Beautiful architecture. Teudah Kashrut, Mashgeach Tamidi, delicious food. Here is the Pella-wonderment. Everyone in the building is Jewish, the employees working in this 6 story building, the cafeteria staff, the guards, the janitors. And then, after lunch we walked through the old city and davened at The Kotel. Coming up from the wall I received a mishabarach for my self and all of my children. This is Real or should I spell: IsReal. Oh by the way lunch was only 30 shekels each ($7.50) now that is un-real.\nShmuelik, Jerusalem is calling to us all. Come home!");
AddReply(186505,"why?","Eli","S. Texas","02/21/07","why does there have to be so much finger pointing and animosity between the Chareidim and Datim? I know that that is not officially what this blog post titled \"50 ways to leave your lover\" says it is setting out to do, but there are blaring undertones of this throughout the article. You all do realize that both sides have a point, and we are only getting farther away from the truth when the two sides finger point instead of talking and looking for the truth. You turn people away from discussion and attempting to find the truth when you scorn their position, which you did in your sarcastic statement that \"He would undoubtedly answer with an assortment of convoluted explanations in order to rationalize his love for the exile.\". If, as you say, you are concerned about your fellow Jew, you will want to make sure they do not inherit the sin of the spies, which you clearly believe Shmuleik\'s views will lead to. and if you are a G-D fearing Jew, you will want to make sure that your own view is not mistaken. therefore, in consideration of these two factors, I would think you would want to engage in respectful debate over these issues and come to a conclusion based on facts and truth, not feelings. I do not know which side is right, all I know is that both sides have good points, and both sides have points that seem to me to be illogical. This does not mean they are wrong, but since respectful debate has never taken place on the subject, I really am lacking the resources to even see a clear picture of what y\'all\'s problems with one another are.\nIf you disagree with me, feel free to ridicule and rebuff everything I said. It really doesn\'t make a difference to me. just a) give me reasons why I am wrong, and b)think about it first. ");

AddReply(186412,"Mr. Fishman is wrong","Shimshon ","New York City","02/20/07","There is no obligation to live in Eretz Yisroel, or said another way, there is no obligation to LEAVE Galus, because unless someone is completely clueless of reality, it is impossible to leave Galus by moving to Eretz Yisroel! Galus is still in Eretz Yisroel, and in some areas, there is more Galus in Israel than in any other place in the world.\nEven by moving to Eretz Yisroel, there is still Galus in Eretz Yisroel. \nThe performance of Mitzvos, however, is better done in Eretz Yisroel. Every classical commentator (except Rav Kook) above meant in the fact that the performance of the Mitzvos is better done in Eretz Yisroel. To perform the Mitzvos one may have an obligation to settle in Eretz Yisroel and NOT because that someone beliefs that by simply moving to Eretz Yisroel Moshiach will come forthwith. (I would argue that if Rambam and Ramban knew that the secular state of Israel would arise in Eretz Yisroel they would argue against living in it to bring Moshiach.)\nThe whole discussion of how Jews are an endangered species outside of the state of Israel (in the Shtachim they are also not too safe, whether physically or spiritually) because there is a staggering intermarriage rate is presumptuous, condescending, and odious. Only Torah can save Jews not Medinat Israel.\nUnless Moshiach will come tomorrow, Medinat Israel is not safe from destroying the Jew believe or not. Mr. Fishman, you wake up, YOU realize what is happening in Israel. The increase of the Arab population or non-Jews, bechlal, has been STAGGERING. Intermarriage will creep up, unless the bloody conflict should engulf more innocent Jewish lives just because certain \"religious\" Jews care more about bringing Moshiach through LAND than through the TORAH. In sum, unless Moshiach will come soon, Amen, Jews are not more safe in Israel than they are outside it.  ");

We can, and should, reach out to Jews of all types to fulfill the positive commandment of living in our holy land.  However, please do not attack those Jewish people and Jewish communities in gallus.  Besides the fact that lashon hara (making true negative comments) is a horrible sin - it\'s also counterproductive.  Just as we approach non-observant Jews with kindless and love, so too must we approach gallus Jews in a kind and friendly manner - it will be far more effective in encouraging aliyah.");
