I thought that the prime minister\'s speech covered all of the bases, and was acceptable to both the United States, and the coalition that brought Netanyahu to power. Politically speaking, his speech was very effective. As far as the \'alternatives\' the writer mentions to the two state solution, while I agree the idea has been a dismal failure, unless there is a viable alternative solution to the Palestinian question, Bibi has no choice but to sign on. The writer admits clearly that the alternatives being bantered about are flawed at best, so how could he suggest that the PM advocate one of those? Netanyahu\'s support for the two state solution is the only position he could take, based upon past agreements, but he put conditions on a Palestinian state that will likely keep the status quo going for many years to come.");
