They were loud,nasty, violent, physical,against peaceful marches, speeches that were pro Israel. This is what they teach in their mosques and muslim groups on campus. The littlest thing against muslims or mohammed brings out organized marches, wild yelling, jeering crowds. They threaten death to Jews,they say hitler failed but they won\'t and the news media doesn\'t realize that this is forced sharia incursion and all the politically correct newspapers, educators keep mouth shut for fear of offending the muslims.It is time for american jews and supporters to rise up and pummel these pig lovers back to where they come from.No more Muslims  for schooling, work, or to live in USA. They don\'t assimilate and they are turning America against Israel. Luckily G");

You should read his posting as well. I found it very helpful in understanding the situation. It\'s at http://tofindtheprinciples.blogspot.com/2009/02/to-alan-dershowitz-thanks-but-no-thanks.html\nYou seem like a very talented guy. Why don\'t you arrange to go to Hampshire, do a performance & lecture/ Q&A . Rabbi Brian Walt is doing just that. Dershowitz publicly stated that he withdrew his boycott of Hampshire campaign (although he has already tarnished the college\'s reputation). Both you and Prof. Dershowitz, instead of taking the low road and being so reactionary and unconstructive, why not do something educational and attempt to engage in dialogue, like adults? I think you owe it to yourself, and to your readers, to apologize for being misinformed and correct it");

(See the full text, once again, at http://www.hampshire.edu/news/11321.htm.)\nYou will see that your assumptions were not correct. You can say \"all well and good if I\'m wrong\", but you\'ve already done the damage with this article. I think an article of clarification from you would be appropriate.\nOne paragraph from this letter states:\n\"In fact, two of the six companies originally cited by students as problematic were given a clean bill of health on Hampshire\'s policy by the KLD screeners (and a third, it turned out, was not even listed as a constituent of the fund). As a consequence, stocks in these two companies (Motorola and Terex)—we speak unequivocally —remain among our holdings and will remain on our potential buy-list in accordance with KLD standards.\" ");

I have some insider information as well. After 9/11, a group called Students for a Peaceful Response, took a poll, basically asking, \"Do you agree with innocent people in Afghanistan getting slaughtered by the U.S. Army? If so, sign this petition.\" Before we knew it, they put out a press release and the media reported, \"Hampshire First School To Oppose Attack In Afghanistan.\" Only the college never made any such statement. As for the petition to review the investment policy: it\'s unfortunate that it was proposed by SJP, but Hampshire was required to review the investment policy according to its own rules. I can agree that Hampshire can be firm with the SJP student leaders in the fact that they did not win their cause. Trust me, the SJP students are too closed-minded, and they\'re not just @ Hampshire");

The anti-Israel sentiment is so blatant and off-the-wall. It\'s not even based on intelligent thinking, for any smart person knows that it has been Israel all along who does everything possible for peace. The Arabs time and time again break their word and just get crazier - more militant. Any college that smells of this perverse anti-Israel prejudice should be called to task!  Colleges should be condemning militant Muslim violence & philosophy; not Israel - who has a right to defend itself against terror.");

Even the college itself has admitted that this issue was placed on the table for many months by the pro-Palestinian group at Hampshire, the SJP. Dershowitz, whom you refer to in your response, read of course the college\'s \"official\" statement in the matter. Derhsowitz claimed that “the students are overstating what happened and the administration is understating what happened.” So perhaps as an alum of Hampshire, you might find it hard to be objective here. I personally think that the truth of the matter lies somewhere between the college\'s defense and the SJP\'s claim of victory. I also am aware that this divestment applies to one bond with ties to six companies. If I am wrong in my assessment - all well and good. The burden of defense, however, lies with Hampshire - not with me.");

In fact, the decision to divest had nothing to do with Israel whatsoever.\nRead the following official statement from letter, which responsd\'s to Dershowitz\'s accusation: http://www.hampshire.edu/news/11321.htm\nI am also an alum of Hampshire, Jewish, and a Zionist. If your niece withdraws from Hampshire, it would be a horrible mistake. She should make an appointment with Hampshire Professor Jim Wald ASAP. He is a voice of reason in all this craziness. He also has a very good blog that I recommend you read ASAP. You might be able to learn a few things, before making anymore baseless accusations against Hampshire. It can be found at http://tofindtheprinciples.blogspot.com/2009/02/to-alan-dershowitz-thanks-but-no-thanks.html. I\'m sorry Dr. Lazerson, your opinion piece is completely irresponsible in its attack on Hampshire.");
