Do that and they will be secure from others.\n\nWhen HaShem gave Israel the land and they entered it, they did not possess the whole of it. When \"the world\" gave Israel a portion of that same land, they did the same thing. I doubt the children even know the vast extent of the land \"given\" after WWII. Sigh. \n\nA positive thought: It could be that the people of Gush Katif will be in Gush Katif in 12 months. ");

However, you don\'t DO ANYTHING.\nMeanwhile all you manage is to TYPE - well done, but your missives have no (constructive) value AT ALL.");

AddReply(332638,"Be Reasonable","Searching For Truth","New York","08/12/08","Your response is quite harsh.\n\nIt seems that the people of Gush Katif may have their priorities straighter than you. When faced between risking their life or taking another\'s life to protect their property, they chose to maintain and respect life. \n\nWho were these people going to shoot at? Their 18 year old children who were drafted into the army? Their neighbor\'s children who were drafted into the army?\n\nYes, some of the soldiers were disconnected and uncaring, but there were those soldiers who did care and were put through plenty of psychological torture before, during and after this incident. Many had been coerced by the government into participation.\n\nWhen it comes to protecting the state as a whole, one is protecting life. When it comes to protecting Gush Katif, at the time, the issue was property. Now, as Sderot residents may insist, the stakes may have really been higher.");

Temper the melancholic.\n\nNot telling you what to write, telling you what to think.  \n\nWe\'re supposed to be demoralized, the proletariat, nature of a stratified hierarchical system.  ot to write it though.  Shakespeare didn\'t get published (without movie) because he wrote about flowers and love.  He was published because he dragged life through the gutter and that made some king\'s gold appear to glow brighter.  Life portrayed as struggle.  (History of the world, if you\'re a fan of history.)\n\nThe only alternatives are to see the good, or to see the movement between positive, negative, neutral.  Ceaseless movement.  That\'s also the history and future of the world.  ");
AddReply(332064,"Wrong, Shlomo!","Mike","Vienna, VA","08/08/08","You were punished for YOUR sins.  For the sin of worshipping a man-made idol, the repugnant godless travesty called \"Medinat Israel\" as \"holy\".  For the sin on relying on miracles instrad of acting rationally.  And, above all, for the sin of failing to take up arms to defend your homes and families.  \n\nFrankly, I do not know how any woman could call any of you male creatures from Gush Katif \"husband\", nor can I comprehend how any healthy person can regard you as men at all.  Men do not surrender their rifles to pogromschiks, then sit limply by and weep like women while their homes are destroyed.  I have sympathy for the women and for the children of Gush Katif.  But for the likes of YOU I have none.  Your ilk got their just deserts.");

AddReply(331812,"Exile is Punishment not Merit...","Shlomo","ex Gush Katif","08/08/08","I know Anita Tucker-worked with her almost daily in our tragically failed effort to save the diamond communities of Gush Katif-on the day the sick medina through us out, I scooped sand in to a bag-and have slept with that Gush Katif sand under my pillow for over 3 years now. But, I do not agree that exile is a zechut (merit)-it is clear in Torah it is a punishment..but this punishment was not for the sins of Gush Katif frontier heroes, but a punishment for the sins of the medina (state)-many times in Jewish history-the great ones are punished to cleanse the sins of others (Moses\' 2 sons, the 10 Martyrs, the 6 Million, R. Akiva)-it was a sin of the greatest order when UTJ joined Sharon to destroy Gush Katif, partly for yeshiva money and partly to blackeye religious zionism which chareidim hate..but the biggest of sins was shared by all Jews and humanity-the day that Gush Katif died!");
