I will use the following analogy to describe the current plight of the People of Israel.  In professional wrestling there is a good guy and a bad guy.  The good guy plays by the rules while the bad guy uses dirty tactics.  The referee turns a blind eye to the evil tactics of the bad guy but when the good guy starts using the same tactics, he gets disqualified.  Israel is the good guy, the bad guy is the Arab terrorists, and the referee is the UN.  \nI say the Israel government: do not trust the UN, take of the gloves, and do what is right for the survival of Jewish People. Egypt declared it was (victim) Israel\'s responsibility.! Even though Israel suicidally surrendered Gaza to barbaric, implacable enemies, Israel is still supposed to take care of Gaza\'s citizens who danced in the streets and passed out sweets and flowers when the death worshippers-Muslim human bombers murdered and maimed Jewish innocents in Dimona.\n\nIsrael must never again be on the defensive - but always aggressive! Israeli spokespeople to the world must be ENRAGED when it is suggested they give Gaza supplies-to ENEMIES who fire rockets daily on Sderot. Enraged that Israel should give supplies, land or anything to an ENEMY population - 75% of PA Muslims support suicide bombings of Jewish innocents-men, women, children, babies. Eager supporters of murder-they are no longer human.");

We\'re so concerned with what our enemies think, that we don\'t care about what\'s right, or about our own safety.\n\nWe need to have the courage to go it alone in the world. \n\nIt\'s been said that we may think the world is right and we are wrong; after all, it\'s 15 million versus 6 billion; how can we be so presumptuous as to say that we are right and they are wrong? Is it not more likely to be the other way around? Answer: there is one thing in our history that shows unequivocally that the minority can be 100% objectively correct and the majority to be 100% objectively wrong: the blood libel - we KNOW that we didn\'t drink blood, without a doubt. It\'s an objective fact. And the majority was dead wrong.\n\nSo too today.\n\nFantastic article, thank you!");
AddReply(273680,"Good column, good arguments","Mark","","02/05/08","But I still can\'t see the logic behind the blockade of Gaza.  \n\nIt is counterproductive.  Anybody could have anticipated that the whole world would gang up on Israel using the same old arguments of \"collective punishment\", \"starving children\", and so on.\n\nBut Israel imposes sanctions again and again.  And gets no results from Hamas.  \n\nI agree with Shifra in that Israel must change its image to project strength and self-respect.  \n\nBut what about Gaza?  Impose more hardships? Do a few targeted killings?  \n\nThe only way to end the terror from Gaza is to retake the whole area for Israel. Undo the disengagement. \n\nThere are solutions for the Arabs of Gaza. They can be offered incentives to relocate.  The least violent among them will choose to emigrate anyway, and the terrorists can be dealt with.\n\nAnd perhaps the US can do something for world peace (for a change) by using a fraction of the billions it\'s spending fighting terror in Iraq to instead generously persuade Jordan and Egypt to take care of their people languishing in refugee camps in Lebanon, Jordan, Syria, and those still living in the territories. \n\nThere must be an effective solution.  No more defensive or small punishing gestures that mean nothing in the long run.\n\nAnd who cares what the world thinks.  If Israel defends itself, protects its land, its borders, its security, its people, there will be loud bleatings from the usual critics, but after a while the world will learn to live with it.");

Yet very few people know the true in\'s and out\'s of the nation and it\'s people. More people should read about the history, geography, culture and current situation of the Holy Land. Opinions are as common as sand on a beach. Informed judgements and views are not so numerous. As the saying goes, it doesn\'t matter what your enemies think about you, but it sure does matter what your friends think of you.\n\nPerhaps what is needed for Israel\'s P.R. machine is an expanded, global mission of World Peace by 2050 as the ultimate goal of the Jewish people and all of humankind. The State of Israel can and should be a springboard for this mission to unfold.\n\nWinning followers to a cause is assisted greatly if that cause is truly just, worthy and achievable. People do respond to inspiring visions.");

AddReply(273614,"Rename Israel to Judah!","Gary","Monterey, CA","02/05/08","Ms. Hoffman,\n\nI have discussed with other authors within this site, that with my knowledge and understanding of the Prophets, G-d isn\'t interested in individuals who want to do things their own way.  He is interested in individuals who will listen and learn of His way.  His way is to provide Him with the Tabernacle in Shiloh, later the Temple in Jerusalem, and invite G-d back to the Holy Land.  Restart the Sacrafices. Restart the Judaism of Exodus and provide Him with a place in the Most Holy of Holies.  Someone said that the Jews must wait for the Temple, since their Sages have declared it.  I say that could be 1,000 years from now!  Did not Moses command the people of Israel to construct the Tabernacle?  It was David who desired to build G-d a Temple.  But just like Joshua crossed the Jordan during the Conquest and established the Tabernacle, then 500 years later, David established the Temple, so to should the Exile Jews, who have crossed the Jordan, re-establish the Tabernacle in Shiloh!  This will provide G-d with a place in Israel.  Then will He be the G-d of Israel!  Right now, where is His dwelling place?  Obey the commands of Moses and build the Tabernacle.  Maybe Israel should be renamed Judah, since the other nine tribes are lost to history.  Only Judah, Benjamin and Levi remain known to the world.");
