I spent a week of my life trying to contact through email all of the Jewish synagogues, affiliate buildings and JCC\'s in the state of Texas about the merits and values of solar energy systems. And guess what, not one response about the interest in the technology. If you think the US Government is going to act to change the course of foreign oil dependence, you have a long wait. We must start in our own back yards, as the challange is spiritual.");

It\'s development is being blocked by oil and financial interests. Check out the US Dept of Energy website to see what\'s available. What we need is a committment similar to the one that put man on the moon in 1969. We could almost be free of Arab oil in less than 20 years. Then those murderous Arabs can drink their oil and choke on it.");

AddReply(53087,"Hydrogen has problems","Gamaliel Isaac","Irvington","06/10/06","Hydrogen is not an energy source.  You need to put in energy to get out hydrogen.  Solar and nuclear on the other hand are energy sources.  They can\'t compete in price, however with oil that pours out of the ground.  A good first start for Israel would have been not to give the Abu Rodeis oil fields to Egypt but they did.  Another good move would have not been to give the offshore oil rights to the Palestinian Arabs but they did.  The West needs to take control of the oil fields that they allowed the Arabs to seize from the oil companies.  ");

Hydrogen requires an entirely new and  extensive infra-structure. It is also highly explosive.\n\nOur best bets are better batteries, better engineered cars and plant based fuels.");

I understand  we are not developing these assets because various politicians such as the kennedies and others have huge oil interests and are making big bucks from the high oil price . They use the environmental argument as a ruse to prevent further drilling and probably pay off enough congressmen and senators to make sure the voting goes their way. The oil tar sands have enough oil for a hundred years but there would have to be a guaranteed price per barrel as extraction is expensive ($40). Watch for the envirofascists objections to this also. Gas lamps were the light source back then. Now we have too much electricy at night in the USA. Problem is people sleep at night, many industries close at night, lights go off at night. But those coal fired generators, and hydro generators keep turning..waisting electric. Small electric vehicles that have been around since the 1920\'s could be redesigned and pluged into a household electric outlet at night for local shopping trips during the day. 98% of USA electric is produced without oil!Voila!");

There is already a clean burning reasonably priced fuel which the US could produce without limit and that is ethanol from corn.  The mix is 85% corn and 15% fossil fuel  but the use of the fossil fuel will be reduced dramaticly.  This will never happen as I stated earlier and no amount of research will correct the issue unless the same leaders of the US can make there money from the new product.");
