I quoted Dichter\'s comparison between the West Bank and Gaza but don\'t, of course, agree with his dismissal of the near-Gaza population and area as if it\'s unimportant, not strategic, and not vulnerable.");

Perhaps someone can explain.\nIf someone is a minister or a chevrat knesset --- ie a part of the government --- and the government is doing stuff against his conscience, he can quit the government. An entire party can quit.  But then others, who agree with the government\'s policies, will enter the government and terrible things will happen with the CONSENT and BACKING of the new government.  How does one fight the policies?  Why is it good to quit the government that\'s doing these things thereby leaving a place for people who back the policies?");

David :), not Really! actually these politico\'s are all of the same bunch and on the take to one degree or another, and...... there aint a damned thing we can do about it short of removing them from power ( like that will happen) So I guess we just continue to defend and stand up for the failed policies of a corrupt Israeli government with our knuckles, faces and rear ends, and opinions of course.... Have a nice day P David, Howln\' Rob");
AddReply(55472,"Avi Dichter\'s position","Montgomery Harding","London","05/22/06","Brilliant,crisp and clear articulation of Mr. Dichter\'s wavering positions. Political expediency should not be at the expense of sacrificing moral convictions and well held beliefs. Pre Kadima Mr. Dichter understood and focused on the dangers faced by Israel and Post Kadima Mr.Dichter focused on the mechanics of securing a ministerial position.Please explain Mr. Dichter");
AddReply(55471,"Olmert, the People\'s Choice","Larry Hall","Mt. View","05/22/06","Nice sentiments, as usual, but the Israeli voters indeed have chosen convergence. They ratified the Gaza expulsion in late March, and certified the \'validity\' of Amona. Olmert deserves to be investigated for his role in Amona - which orders he gave or did not gave - by an impartial body. None exists that has any power. The High Court is severely partial. The public is uninterested in changing how it works, and uninterested in changing the electoral system. Good Jews like David will write articles, but this will, objectively, change nothing. Israelis endorse the current system.");

AddReply(55465,"Mr. Dichter - Put Up Or Shut Up","Adina Kutnicki","US","05/22/06","In his usual straightforward manner, David Hornick is asking Dichter the $ 69,000 dollar question - will he sell out his moral principles-knowing that many Jewish deaths will ensue if he continues to prop up \'convergence\'-or, will he thwart political aspirations  to save Jewish lives?\n\nI will be less polite than David by asking Mr. Dichter the following - can he live with himself if he doesn\'t oppose \'convergence\' with all his security expertise in tow, or, will he be able to live with Jewish blood on his hands? It only takes a few good people to do nothing for a catastrophe to occur.\n");
