AddReply(152152,"Zero-sum game","Warren","MD USA","08/10/04","Solutions such as those proposed by the author of this article are considered non-starters by Israel\'s peace partner(s). There are too many strategic and other interests that depend on the existence of this conflict. The Arab-Israel conflict has now been deceptively transformed into an exclusively \"palestinian-israeli\" conflict in the world media. This is deceptive on at least two counts. Some \"palestinians\" are also \"Israelis\" (those living west of the 1949 armistice lines). Also, this ignores the large multi-faceted role Arab regimes and the Islamic Republic of Iran continue to play in the maintenance of this conflict.\n\nThe Arab-Israel conflict is, perhaps, the sole source of legitimacy for secular Arab regimes. It is a major source of legitimacy for unelected clerical regimes such as the one in Iran. The palestinians are used by these regimes to wage war against Israel by proxy. This war by proxy includes intelligence gathering and attempts to mount the most lethal strikes on a strategic scale possible in addition to the violence that has already occured. These regimes can also use the palestinians as a rationale to threaten other countries with terrorism who are deemed not signifigantly forthcoming on this issue. The palestinians are a strategic pawn/tool on many levels for regimes who are working to bring about its\' disappearence.  Many Arab regimes, including Egypt, plus the regime in Iran can be expected to fight tooth and nail against even the appearence of a future resolution. There is also the possibility of less business for countries which export major weapons systems to these regimes if tensions lessened. The reality that the conflict is a zero-sum game precludes many possible solutions. The regimes that rule Israel\'s neighbors consider \"peace\" as only a \"strategic choice\" that they can exploit for maximum selfish strategic advantage in order to eventually eliminate entirely their purported peace partner. Peace, in the eyes of these regimes, is nothing more than a \"hudna\". Other countries that have any signifigant business or other relationship with these regimes seemingly go to great lengths to show that they accept and identify with all of the desires and wishes of these regimes.\nThis conflict monopolizes the world media, in large measure, due to the economic, strategic and other interests of the countries that seek the favor of these regimes.\nThe result is a zero-sum game.");

And I believe the young generation of Israel and Palestine administrations want peace, only with old ambitions people can not solve the situation there, I like this holy place, Jerusalem my favourite city in the World, and as I know Jew and Arabs are cousins, the prophet Abraham grandchildren, I always respect all of them. I think the people who live there have right to live in peace and have healthy life, I\'am a person who wants to stop the war there.....\n\n");
AddReply(152150,"transfer in the West","Howard","Pennsylvania","08/05/04","When the Western democracies wake up and realize that the best way to combat terror (possibly the only way) is to deport all moslem aliens, the argument for the transfer of arabs out of Eretz Yisrael may have a chance. The islamists are using democratic laws and principals to entrench their populations in the US and other democratic countries. The arab population in America is made up of active terror organizations, terror support organizations, moles, and a massive support community. In the US, we should Deport All Alien Moslems, and refuse to issue any visas to arabs or moslems while this terror threat exists. Any American citizen acting in support of the Global Jihad should be charged with treason. An ideology and its adherents should have no religious protective rights when they sanction and support global terrorism and genocide.\n\n500 years ago the Spanish saved their country and probably western civilization by expelling the Islamists. Unfortunately, in their fervor, they expelled (and did worse) to the Jews as well. (At least Columbus got away.) Hundreds of years before that, the crusaders battled Islam on Europe\'s Eastern border. Maybe expelling islamists is something that needs to be done every half millenium or so. ");

AddReply(152148,"transfer","I. Zwick","","08/05/04","This author hit the nail on the head. When PM Sharon proposed that the 8000 Jews living in Gaza should be uprooted and transferred into the Negev, there wasn\'t a single voice of protest from the humanitarian organizations. Try to propose that for the Arab \"refugees\" and everyone starts screaming. There can never be a viable Palestinain state in the area proposed. It would be dependent on close mutual cooperation with Israel. The best solution is to offer each of the \"refugee\" families $50,000 to go to other countries and they\'ll grab the offer.  Even $100,000 per family would be cheaper than the costs of all the fighting and killing that is going on now.");

What do you seriously think the chance are that 5 million Arabs who are now living in Israel are just going to up and leave?  You\'re right, it would solve all of the problems facing Israel, but the fact remains: the Arabs are no more likely to leave the Holy Land voluntarily than the Jews.  Do you propose forced deportation or what?  Whatever the historical rights and wrongs on either side, the only way to solve this war is to deal with the practical situation we have now.  ");
AddReply(152146,"I have long advocated transfer as a solution","Terry Davis","","08/05/04","Transfer is not a solution to ongoing arab and muslim hatred, but as those particular sub species hate everyone including themselves I guess that we shouldn\'t allow this to inhibit us.\n\nI believe Israel should be talking about transfer as the only practical solution and threaten to impose it if the arabs won\'t accept it.  Transfer is now internationally acceptable as seen by support for Jewish transfer from Gaza.\n\nIsrael should also set deadlines for transfer after which every actual and attempted terrorist attack will be met by transfer of an area of land to Israel after the arabs have been driven out.  tis will leave the arabs with incrementally less of our land to live in and help persuade them to leave.");

There is no one with the political will to do what absolutely needs to be done.\n\nThe enemies understand that only too well. That\'s why they are so arrogant and confident in their eventuaal \"victory\".\n\nOnly a great tragedy may serve as a catalyst to unify the Jews or Americans, and enable them to win the war against the islamic barbarians (apparently, over 1000 dead Isralis during the Oslo war and 3000 Americans on 9/11 hasn\'t been enough to serve as a wake up call). Since the barbarians aren\'t going to stop their jihad, that situation will eventually occur sooner or later. It\'s frustrating and criminally stupid but, nevertheless, is a reality.\n\n");

Jihad is at the core of the Arab-Israeli conflict (and the Muslim-Western World  conflict too).  I do not see revisionist Islamic camps ever succeeding in bringing an end to Jihad, which has been waged in various forms for about 1400 years.\n\nThe days when large Western powers had the will and the ability to impose solutions, draw borderlines and install governments in the interests of building a peaceful and prosperous world are long gone. Even when the West did have the will and ability to do these things, they squandered them with poorly designed, self-serving descisions.  Until it becomes possible and politically acceptable for Western powers to impose these things on less powerful peoples once again, your excellent proposal will be a non-starter.");
