Does a defensive military action to halt and repel an armed attack have to be commensurate with the attack? Also: Klezmer, lead by a flute, as it might have sounded 200 or 300 years ago. And: Would one get the Nobel Prize for Literature for the outline of a book, or in Physics for a vague idea about the Universe? Surely not, but the Peace Prize is awarded for a declaration of intent, regardless of its prospect for success. That Committee has lost its sense of purpose and with it its credibility.

Women’s organizations on the other hand argue that Halacha does allow overriding a husband’s recalcitrance. What next? Is Evangelical Help Desirable?

Usually before Jewish festivals, Evangelical Christian Organisations, some led by Television preachers pour millions of Dollars into Israel, to help those Jews in our society, who are being overlooked by our Social Services, or who otherwise fell through the cracks of the system. They are the vulnerable, open to suggestions, the old, the infirm and the Holocaust survivors. Is that money tainted? Are there strings attached? Is it missionary activity? Should we even accept it? Walter’s World tries to find some answers. Also: An investigation into the scam of issuing phony Kosher Certification and how the unsuspecting Torah observant public is being fooled into buying non-kosher or at best suspect fresh food products.

Swedish Freedom of Expression

It’s Freedom of the Press Swedish style. Aftonbladet, a sensationalist Swedish tabloid newspaper published the unconfirmed story by a known anti-Semite, that IDF snatches Palestinians, harvests their organs and then returns them by night dead, slyly linking it with the alleged organ trade by Jews in New Jersey. Walter’s World tried hard to get comment from official Swedish government circles, but gets only the cold shoulder. While buildings of Jewish institutions in Sweden have to be heavily protected, their leaders offer half hearted excuses for their government’s silence, despite Israel’s protest. Also: What 80% of Jews in the US know about Israel is what their local media reports. And: An assessment of Europe’s engrained anti-Semitism.
