Pope Francis is only the 4th Pope to visit Israel since Independence in 1948.
The first Pope, Paul VI, stayed for 11 hours and never mentioned the word "Israel." The current Pope is traveling with two long time friends, a rabbi and an imam. I reflect on this Pope's itinerary, the game-changing and long-term effects of Nostra Aetate signed 50 years ago, and my personal relationship with one of the princes of the church, Cardinal William Keeler of Baltimore. While there is much controversy about this Pope's visit, my feeling is.....well, listen and find out.
Happy to hear from you anytime at rabbi@elanadler.com

Thanks for tuning in, keep that derech eretz thing going, my friends, and have a terrific week! Shalom!
