If the anarchist who shot Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria knew that his act would lead to World War I, would he have still done it? Unlikely, but then again, how could he have known that such a singular act could lead to such a complex result? That's why American warships facing Syria is a good reason to raise some eyebrows, especially this close to Rosh Hashanah.
