We receive an email from one of our listeners with a great question.
“Why does it matter to you personally for others make Aliyah?”
So here are the communications’:
From David (Aliyah Fever Listener)
The only reason why is because if we come, then Moshiach (Jewish Messiah) can possibly come. Thus you want us to make Aliyah for your own personal reasons. Of course that is a good reason, but...
Some people say if the Jews from America moved to Israel than Israel would be in real trouble because of the Jewish political power in the US (really is the Evangelical Christians). With the Jews gone to Israel then the US will become like the rest of world against Israel and is Israel going to take on the whole world? Even if all of the English speakers move to Israel, there will still be Jews outside of Israel and thus no Moshiach.
I have often wondered that very question myself. Why do I care?
I think that it's the same reason I and others like me make Aliyah. Something inside is driving us. It's almost explainable, but it is real. I can tell you that it was an unstoppable feeling. It was a constant pull from the inside. I felt in pain living outside of Israel. That is why I have never been back since making Aliyah. Every time I visited Israel, I felt at peace, when I left I was in pain. I am not alone in the phenomenon. Others describe the same. I believe that inner drive and feeling carries on to wanting other Jews to come back. Others feel the same too. I believe in the G-d of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, so it makes perfect sense to me.
Regarding the US or any other nation, whether Israel will be able to survive without them or they would be added to our already sizable list of enemies... History has spoken and the future...well, my money is on Israel... Nations come and go...Israel is here to stay and become the leading nation of the world, both ethically and financially. I believe this with my whole heart and soul. We just need to try our best and Hashem will take care of the rest!
As far as the Moshiach goes... he is expected any day now! In the meantime, we have a lot of work to do!
Thanks for writing in!
See you at the Beit HaMikdash!
I like what you wrote. It is a personal thing, thus for some or a lot of people they might have that "thing pulling from the inside".
I gave him an answer which he liked, but after thinking about it, I had to ask myself, “Really why do we care if you make Aliyah or not?” So we decided to make a show about it…
Listen to this week’s Aliyah Fever and you will see why we do care that you make Aliyah!
