On one side: The IAF killed a top Hamas leader named Nizar Rayyan who, only a day before, told a group at a Gaza mosque: "We do not need money or weapons -- we only need your prayers, we can handle the enemy ourselves" and called on Muslims everywhere to pray for Gaza's Arabs. On the other side: the elder Kabbalist, Rabbi Eliyahu Leon Levi of Bnei Brak, said that every Jew had to enlist in the fight: "Those of us who are not in the army must become spiritual soldiers with the same day-and-night spirit of sacrifice and sense of duty as our boys in uniform. It is our prayers that give fuel to our fighter planes and tanks and direct our missiles on course." Rabbi Judah Mishel explains this war of prayer.
