An article published in the Foreign Policy Journal says that an 82 page report has been compiled by U.S. intelligence sources for the Obama Administration stating that American interests are hurt by its close relations with Israel, and alludes to looking at a Post-Israel Middle East.
The article states:
"It’s a paper entitled “Preparing For A Post Israel Middle East”, an 82-page analysis that concludes that the American national interest is fundamentally at odds with that of Zionist Israel. The authors conclude that Israel is currently the greatest threat to US national interests because its nature and actions prevent normal US relations with Arab and Muslim countries and, to a growing degree, the wider international community."
Doing a an internet search, one cannot find the original report online, or confirm that it is indeed from U.S. Intelligence sources. However, at the bottom of the FPJ article, the editor notes: "While this report does not mention the source for the information concerning the alleged draft report, FPJ with permission from the author is able to disclose that the source is a staffer with a certain research unit of the CIA."
Whether this 82 page report can be confirmed or not, the fact that it is in print and making its way around the world, and the content it contains regarding points why Israel is believed to be a liability to U.S. interests, should be of concern to Israelis and Americans who support Israel. Many of the points listed in the report are simply and fundamentally incorrect. Arutz Sheva's Tamar Yonah discusses these points and corrects the mis-information contained in the report with her guest, Carl in Jerusalem, author of the blog 'Israel Matzav' on her News & Views radio show.
