Audio: Visiting American TV Stars Experience The Truth About Israel
One of the most important tasks for all of us is to spread the facts about Israel, our people and our achievements.

.We need to counter the lies and misconceptions; everyone to the extent that is in his power. If it is only to write to friends and family abroad about something nice that’s happening here. Because we must counter what is believed about Israel and based on Press and TV reports influenced by the powerful and financially inexhaustible Arab propaganda machine and the agendas of various governments, not least of all their thirst for oil. Fortunately we have friends and supporters who see to it that influential journalists and TV personalities get a chance to visit Israel, knowing that they will go back and spread the truth to their many followers. Today, I am reporting about one such organisation.
Also on the programme - the Chief political correspondent of the Jerusalem Post discusses with Walter the political changes that surprised the country during the past few days.
Walter Bingham was born in, Germany. Just days before the outbreak of WWII, with the help of a Zionist youth movement he was selected for a place on the ‘Kindertransport’ to Great Britain. Walter saw front line action during the Normandy invasion of Europe and was awarded the Military Medal for ‘Bravery in the Field’. In England Walter also acted in films including several Harry Potter films. On the day of his Aliyah in August 2004 he transferred his programme ‘Walter’s World’ to Israel National Radio as a weekly Magazine programme and it has been running here regularly ever since. Walter is an accomplished public speaker and was a member of a visiting panel of lecturers at schools throughout the UK, where he spoke on events in the Third Reich. He has also spoken at schools in the USA and addressed audiences in Israel.
