Professor Desjarlais is an anthropologist who has explored many subjects, from Tibetan Buddhists in the Himalayas to homeless people in downtown Boston. Tonight he discusses his recent book, Counterplay: An Anthropologist at the Chessboard, which investigates the passion and drive that lies within the game of chess.
