Dr. Colin Price, Professor of Atmospheric Sciences and Head of the Department of Geophysics and Planetary Sciences at Tel Aviv University is literally in his element this week as unusually severe storms rock Israel. His field of research deals with global lightning activity and their connections to the Earth's climate. Dr. Price's work is an integral part of a UN effort to find solutions to global warming, and his equipment is also tied to earthquake studies, quite relevant to current events.
