If a tree falls in the forest and no one is there to hear, does it make a sound? If a holy Jew in the Land of Israel, a father of seven, is murdered on his way home, does anyone hear? Rabbi Richman and Yitzchak Reuven lament the murder of Rabbi Meir Chai and ponder the Talmudic teaching that "all of Israel is considered as one man. " In the words of the English metaphysical poet John Donne, "Any man's death diminishes me "... but can that still be said in today's world of mass media and mass apathy?
The book of Bereishiet comes to a close this week, and with it, the generations of Yaakov and Yosef. The people of Israel, now sojourners in Egypt, are about to enter into a new level of reality. As we begin to read the book of Exodus next week, what bearing does this have on our contemporary reality? Our hosts explore the secret of timeless Torah in the light of a Midrashic teaching about Yaakov and Bilaam's donkey or more specifically, the mouth of Bilaam's donkey. What was so special about that mouth, and how is it connected to Pharaoh and the Jews in Egypt? Tune into this week's Temple Talk to find out! Plus: Yitzchak Reuven shares a personal victory and vindication, and a sneak preview of a new Temple Institute video series on the Priestly garments.

Yaakov avinu promises his children a revelation of the end of days, and then proceeds to bless each of them. Was there a prophecy or not? It is said that prophecy is given to the broken-hearted and that Yaakovs prophecy to his children was as on as high a level as the prophecy of Moses. http://www.youtube.com/watch?
Light to the Nations, with Rabbi Chaim Richman: The Holy Temple: Man-Made or Heaven-Sent, Part III
Midrashic and kabbalistic literature abounds in which the Holy Temple is described in spiritual terms. These homelitical teachings do not contradict or override the Torah imperative for building a physical Holy Temple.

Jerusalem: The Siege:
Three days in Tevet: Events which took place long ago on the 8th, 9th, and 10th of Tevet, illuminate those difficulties which the nation of Israel needs to overcome today in order to advance towards her promised destiny - the building of the Holy Temple, and the bringing of G-d's light into the world.
