An observation on the start of the new school year in Israel - and the state of our teachers. And: A look at collective punishment as it was dealt out during the British Mandate. Does a defensive military action to halt and repel an armed attack have to be commensurate with the attack? Also: Klezmer, lead by a flute, as it might have sounded 200 or 300 years ago. And: Would one get the Nobel Prize for Literature for the outline of a book, or in Physics for a vague idea about the Universe? Surely not, but the Peace Prize is awarded for a declaration of intent, regardless of its prospect for success. That Committee has lost its sense of purpose and with it its credibility.
