There is a tradition to eat special and unusual foods on Rosh Hashanah. In addition to apples dipped in honey, pomegranates, and fish, we eat black-eyed peas, beets, leeks and gourds. Judy explains why we eat each food, and shares the corresponding blessings. She also adds a few creative blessings of her own. Plus: Rebbetzin Pearl Borow on incorporating blessings into our very being.
Judy Simon, the host of Life Lessons, teaches English and special education in Judea and Samaria and is the mother of six children.
