Born and bred in Kew Gardens Hills, Rabbi Shafier learned at the Choftez Chaim Yeshiva and studied under Rabbi Davidowitz and Rabbi Harris. He taught for 12 years in Rochester, New York and was a Rebbe at Chofetz Chaim in Monsey.
