The "path of the Patriarchs" corresponds precisely to the watershed line of the Judean Hills on an elevation of close to three thousand ft. above sea level. As we proceed along this ancient road we reach a spot where the terrain abruptly drops and the outskirts of Jerusalem suddenly become visible. This site, offering a panoramic view of the Jerusalem hills, is located south of the modern town of Ne’veh Daniel. On the horizon the Mount of Olives can be seen. On a clear day the Golden Dome of the Rock glistens in the northeast. We know that the level of Mt Moriah is 740 meters, or 2220 ft. above sea level.
