The youth, Rami Al-Malakh, was shot to death, and Islamic Jihad terrorists said they had a video proving that he confessed to helping Israeli intelligence forces track down terrorists.

The execution took place near Tulkarm, one of two cities where Israel has withdrawn its forces and given the Palestinian Authority (PA) responsibility for security. Tulkarm is east of Netanya and overlooks what used to be the 1967 border before Judea, Samaria and Gaza were captured by Israel in the Six-Day War.

Al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigade terrorists, affiliated with the Fatah organization, which rules the PA, and the Islamic Jihad have led the latest wave of terror against Israel.

Israeli soldiers Saturday caught a terrorist in Shechem, east of Tulkarm, who tried to smuggle one kilogram (2.2 pounds) of explosive material through a checkpoint. The terrorist claimed the material was birdseed. In Gaza, no one was injured in several terrorist attacks, including shootings at soldiers near N'vei Dekalim and Gan Or.

Defense Ministry sources say plans have been completed for a "measured response" to recent rocket attacks on the Negev town of Sderot, but no details were released. Israel has not reacted to mortar shell and rocket attacks on Jewish towns and military posts in Gaza over the past month.
