A central assembly will be held in the "eye of the storm," in N'vei Dekalim – Gush Katif's largest community. Beginning in the morning hours, nine classes and lectures will be held in the town's main synagogue. The classes will address topics associated with the power of fasting, the significance of Purim, and the Land of Israel.



Among the lecturers will be Rabbis Chaim Druckman, Chanan Porat, Yigal Kaminetzky, Moti Elon, and others. At 4 PM, a massive prayer service will be held, with the participation of former Chief Rabbis Avraham Shapira and Mordechai Eliyahu.



Among those calling for a day of fasting and prayer tomorrow are Rabbi Meir Mazuz, head of Yeshivat Kiseh Rachamim, Rabbi Binyamin Yehoshua Zilber, Chabad rabbis, the Sadigura Rebbe and the Bostoner Rebbe.



Large prayer ceremonies will be held around the country, including at the gravesites of the Arizal and Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai in the Galilee, Telz-Stone outside Jerusalem, Yeshivat HaGolan in Hispin in the Golan Heights, the hesder yeshiva in Eilat, Yeshivat Beit El and elsewhere.
