Gush Etzion Regional Council head Sha'ul Goldstein said, "This is definitely getting somewhat too heated up. On the one hand, we have to fight for the Land of Israel without compromising, but not at the expense of panic and fright amongst the people. We must choose our words very carefully so as not to possibly arouse one extremist or another to take certain action."

Goldstein agreed that no one is calling for violent action, but rather just warning that it is liable to happen, "but certain words are understood differently in different situations by different people." He emphasized that there is great anger at Sharon's dictatorial policies, but that at the same time, "we ourselves must not threaten and not try to frighten. I believe that so far, we have not yet crossed the line. We must call on left-wing speakers such as Yossi Sarid and Yoel Marcus to restrain their incitement, and we must also be careful."
