MK Moshe Arbel (Shas) tested positive for the coronavirus and notified Knesset Sergeant-at-Arms Yosef Grif.

The last time Arbel was in the Knesset was on September 16.

"The Knesset continues to work to conduct an epidemiological examination and investigation together with the professionals in the Ministry of Health," the Knesset said.

Meanwhile, MK Moshe “Bogie” Ya'alon (Yesh Atid) went into isolation after meeting in the Knesset with MK Arbel.

"I immediately informed the Knesset Sergeant-at-Arms and went into isolation pending a coronavirus test and medical instructions. I feel good without any symptoms, I wish MK Arbel a complete recovery and the whole house of Israel Shana Tova, Chatima Tova and health."

Earlier on Sunday, it was announced that one of the advisers of MK Yaakov Margi (Shas) contracted coronavirus. He was in the Knesset on September 16 and everyone who was in contact with him has been ordered to go into isolation.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health updated that from midnight to 7:00 p.m., 1,571 new verified cases of coronavirus had been diagnosed. This increased the number of active patients in Israel to 52,262.

643 patients are in serious condition, of which 170 are on respirators. Four patients died and the death toll from the virus now stands 1,236.

16,360 tests have been performed to diagnose the virus, 10% of which were found to be positive.
