This morning, a first meeting is being held by members of the Civilian Coronavirus Cabinet at the National Security Research Institute (INSS) for brainstorming with senior researchers of the institute led by Maj. Gen. (Res.) Amos Yadlin.

During the discussion, the Cabinet team aims to formulate recommendations for dealing with the coronavirus.

Yadlin spoke at the meeting, saying, "What is happening in the field is troubling - Israel has paid a heavy price to flatten the curve, has bought time and done little with it. The public has lost confidence, on the one hand, and fear of the virus on the other."

Former DM Naftali Bennett also spoke. "The State of Israel has been in the most difficult medical, social and economic emergency since the establishment of the state."

"One million people are in need of livelihood. To quell coronavirus and bring back livelihoods, action must be taken today. The public must act responsibly, and the government must establish a powerful system for identifying and isolating infected persons. The civilian cabinet will help. "

"The cabinet will act with clear public relations and provide reliable and clear information, with recommendations for action and in the mobilization of civilian bodies in Israel for mutual assistance in this crisis. I thank all the members of the cabinet who have signed on."
